Ten Network - Programs and Schedules

They rate poorly?

That is not really an excuse is it? If they were taking all the shows off then maybe yes. They are replacing new episodes of Bondi Rescue and Blue Bloods with repeat episodes of the same show

Why would the air repeats of a show , repeats rate better?

Trying to extend the new season like they do in America?

What’s with the question mark. Why would anyone who has seen him think he’s not.

That’s not in question considering his book is titled Confessions of a Fame Whore. The surprise may be that he has a one hour special.

Despite all the promotion tens new Saturday night line up crashed and burned. Unsurprising really.

A little unrealistic to expect a couple of year old UK factual series to suddenly lift Saturday nights, whilst it didn’t do all that well it’s worth nothing that it was Ten’s best main channel share in a couple of weeks.

Unless you can get some A grade movies, then it will (crash and burn) considering in most states AFL is king on Saturday nights, then Nine did a marathon of The Voice (which one may watch on Saturday if you are also a fan of MKR) - so there is really no surprises. And as I said with AFL’s dominance, would you really invest heavily in Saturday?

Maybe they were hoping for ratings gold and contemplating an Australian series, much like they did Territory Cops after Nine did RBT.

Am I the only one that sees the irony in that, with Ten having previously been the FTA Saturday AFL broadcaster

Unless you can get a dominant sport, there is no point in wasting money

I think it’s been documented that Ten have plenty of or access to plenty of films. But they’re a network that chooses not to air lots of them, maybe a point of difference? Just look at Friday/Saturday nights compared to Seven and Nine - one film vs. about six each. And they’ve already aired movies on Saturdays this year, hasn’t done anything.

The Saturday issue is more holistic and deeper than that.

How the hell can Seven draw tons more viewers with a double movie in Sydney and Brisbane & Nine with three encores of The Voice (which didn’t really rate anyway)?

Yet Ten still perform much worse. Yep, there’s something not right at all. Virwers just REFUSE to watch Ten on a Saturday.

Roseanne

Premieres Monday 30 April At 9.00pm.

image

It has been more than two decades since Roseanne left our television screens and in just one week, everyone’s favourite working class family will return to Australian television on Monday 30 April at 9.00pm, only on TEN and WIN Network.

After nine award-winning season seasons (1988 to 1997), the all-new Roseanne will see the often dysfunctional but always entertaining Conner family navigate the world as we know it.

Renowned for their humour, relevance, warmth and honesty, the Conners will deal with family squabbles and the daily economic challenges of living pay cheque to pay cheque in 2018.

The new season of Roseanne stars original cast members Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Sarah Chalke and Michael Fishman, plus newcomers Emma Kenney, Jayden Rey and Ames McNamara. The new season will also feature guest appearances by stars from the original series, including Johnny Galecki, Estelle Parsons and Sandra Bernhard.

In the US, the first episode of the new Roseanne hooked a seven-day audience of more than 27 million, making it the highest-rating comedy in almost four years.

The family that looks like us, lives like us and laughs like no one else is back. Roseanne, same cast, new laughs, new episodes, only on TEN and WIN Network.

Maybe Ten should bring back Hey Hey its Saturday :joy::ok_hand:

This is not actually such a bad idea if executed properly - i.e. all new cast, modernised format (Daryl off-camera producer). Live variety, music, comedy would provide a point of difference to the sport/reality reruns on other networks. The major hurdle would be the cost to produce might surpass the advertising dollars available on a Saturday night these days.
