Masterchef is an Australian format isn’t it?

I believe it originated in the UK?

From wikipedia:
MasterChef is a BBC television competitive cooking show. It initially ran between 1990 and 2001 and was later revived in a different format known as MasterChef Goes Large from 2005 onwards. In 2008, the “Goes Large” part of the name was dropped, but the format remains identical.

What do you think Pilot Week was? They are scheduling those shows this year :+1:

The original concept began on the BBC but I believe it was Ten’s upscaling of the format that triggered further adaptations overseas.

I remember seeing the original on BBC when visiting the UK after Christmas 2008, and knowing that Ten had picked it up for 2009 I was thinking this is going to be yawnsville for Ten five nights a week. But to their credit they totally took it into “shiny floor” territory.

A post was merged into an existing topic: 2019 Ratings Predictions

Lets be honest none of those shows are going to be ratings hits.

Ten: Creates pilot week, green lights a swag of new shows

I genuinely would love to see what other would do with ten’s schedule (albeit in the appropriate thread). I just don’t think they could have done much in such short notice between November-January when they already had planned what they had to air.

Girl on the Train FTA premiere, enjoyed this eerie thriller at the cinemas a couple of years back.

Muriel’s Wedding (network premiere?) Nine won’t be too happy.

The Conners moving to 10 Peach?

What’s Nine got to do with it? If Nine let titles go then they will know that they’re most likely going to pop up somewhere else. Just like how Nine will pick up titles that have been on other networks. It’s business. They won’t care especially that Ten is using it as summer filler.

where would it go when Two and a Half Men takes up the 7pm to 8.30 time slot Monday to Thursday

Last night, Ten’s main channel was beaten by its own multichannel, 10 Bold! :open_mouth: :flushed:

Is that the first time it’s ever happened? TV history may have been made last night!

Ten’s main channel share has been so low lately you wonder why they persist with the current management. Beaten by cable channels as well some nights.

That would be right. In the past, we have seen Ten’s main channel being beaten by a multichannel from a rival commercial network from time to time, but never, until last night, has it been beaten by one of its very own.

I was one of the 13 people in Australia watching “Sex and the City” movie last night on Ch 10, I’m also ashamed to admit

why should you be ashamed to admit it. If you like it that’s your decision.

Firstly, was it the first one or the second one?
Secondly, I’m not sure how they came to the decision to make one let alone two!
