With the News dropping back to 60 minutes long weekdays, i’m surprised they’ve kept it 90 minutes on Sundays. But then again, 6pm on a Sunday against Seven and Nine News is a tough gig for a stand-alone show on 10.
New Ambulance Australia on Wednesdays, and ep 2 of Dog House Australia on Thursdays is good. A nice schedule.
Good to see the AACTA Awards at 7pm on the Saturday. I hope its a good ceremony this time around. Too many TBA’s around it though…
What’s with the endless repeats of US procedurals each night in the first week of survey. 10 have no depth in their schedule early in the new year. Last year they focused on adding depth by having a second show after the 7:30 tent pole.
Yeah I think the only issue at the moment they haven’t really addressed is having fairly consistent new content (doesn’t have to be 100% local) in the post 7:30pm slot, when they do so well with HYBPA?, Cheap Seats, Gogglebox etc but then practically run dead outside of that.
My view on the procedurals (new or old) is that they shouldn’t even be airing at 8:30/8:40/9:00. Networks need a to have at least two local programs post 7:30.
Absolutely - they are just a bit slow to the party - Have You Been Paying Attention, The Cheap Seats, some Austrlalian drama and Gogglebox are all to come
I know 10 do a half decent job in this area but given they have no sports or no investment in news then they should be commissioning more new content to have this in place all year around. They did a half decent job last year trying a few new programs. They need to do more to remain relevant.
Its funny, i was just thinking in a few weeks depending how Deal goes, i would add in a Sunday episode and think about Friday repeats (after a little while).
Won’t last long though, as Survivor will appear on the daytime schedule over the next few days, and Entertainment Tonight will disappear, or appear as a 10 minute filler show.
I don’t think that will happen, Gladiators was a 90 min finale encore today and they were able to play out Entertainment Tonight in full at 1pm and had Farm to Fork at 3pm before Midday.
Oh crap, it was too. I actually legit the Gladiators Final aired during the day. So it can be done then?
But i think Farm to Fork will air in it’s entirely (when reality shows air longer) due to the product placement on the show, compared to Entertainment Tonight
Looks like Entertainment Tonight is out of the schedule Tuesday because the Survivor premiere is 2 hours but then the rest of the week it’s on at 1pm and Survivor has 90 min episodes 1.30-3pm.
Thanks. Yes. I have set Fetch to record it so when Ten drops it in the afternoons, it records next morning.
The only frustrating this is when they show a part of an episode, it assumes it has already been recorded so it won’t record again in the morning. In that case, i need to permanently delete from Fetch so it can record again.
10 have now scheduled a repeat of DOND in the 6pm slot on Saturday, with the 6:30/7:30pm slots still listed as TBA.
I guess this is the other benefit of running with something like a game show at 6pm, highly repeatable content so better value for money even if it is costing them a little more than the news was.
