“To keep the Millennials happy, we’'l give everyone a participation medal”
The Battle Of The Ages Is Back!
Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen. Premieres Tuesday, 16 September On 10.
They say growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional, and we’re here to prove it. With an all-new look, format and a brand-new cast, the classic clash Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen is back, premiering Tuesday, 16 September at 7.30pm.
Hosted by the incredibly funny and furiously talented Anne Edmonds, three new team leaders will go head-to-head-to-head in an epic battle of Gen X, Gen Y and Gen Z. Leading the charge are our fearless team captains; Dave Hughes, Tommy Little, and Anisa Nandaula.
Each week, they’ll be joined by guest panelists who’ll help them represent their generation in the fierce competition of pop culture questions, viral-worthy challenges, and nostalgic throwbacks that will hilariously test their general knowledge.

Poo-pooing on the joke for a moment:
Were participation awards really for the children, or were they for the Boomer parents who couldn’t emotionally process that their perfect little angels did not win? ![]()

As a Gen Z, who on earth is she?!
Don’t take it so seriously. Are you a Millennial? ![]()

As a Gen Z, surely you’ve heard of Google?
I mean isn’t the show meant to have people known to each generation? Isn’t that partially the point?
Heck I know Tommy & Hughesy better than her
She’s a comedian and a TikToker.
Shows how much I use TikTok then ![]()

Isn’t that because they’re obviously older and had a longer career than a Gen Z has had? At 26 years old she’s less than half Hughsey’s age of 54.
I think the important thing is she needs to be funny and knowledgeable. Back when Talkin’ 'Bout Your Generation started in 2009, Josh Thomas was barely known when he fronted the Gen Y team alongside Charlie Pickering and Amanda Keller.

But also, just because she isn’t known to you doesn’t mean she isn’t known to others and how else is someone given a bigger profile and opportunity to become a household name without opportunities like this?
She has a large social media following online as was mentioned, has been doing stand-up gigs for years (I saw her opening for Chelsea Handler last year), was on TGYH, and will also appear in the next season of Taskmaster.
Good on 10 for giving her a go and not using the same old recycled people all the time.

Callum Hole from I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will feature on one of the episodes. A short clip was shown on Have You Been Paying Attention? tonight.
That clip appears in a promo that has been running on 10 for a while now.

I am not sure whether people will agree with me when it airs but here is my review:

For a show who’s entire style and success was built around one person, this is actually funnier than I expected. Hopefully it doesn’t suffer the same fate as every other non-working dog 10 comedy the last few years.
