They should use that music again.

i get that but it removes a USP form target. its now essentially kmart with nicer floors

Nah. Just use the sounds of influencers going goo-goo-ga-ga over whatever new crap they’ve come out with.

Thus why I said they may just create an Anko division with focused stores - Target for clothes, Officeworks for tech and office, Bunnings for hardware and Kmart/Khome/Khub for homewares and everything else that doesn’t fit.

Put Anko gear everywhere and minimise known and better brands.

Sure but they are sourcing products that aren’t Anco from other places ie clothing and you risk that Target just becomes no different to Kmart which is already apparent in their electrical department

Essentially the case.

If Target removes its own clothing sourcing division, and simply puts Anko clothing in, the whole brand is essentially pointless.

What’s the issue with simply cutting off Target? It was a household name 20 years ago. Today, it’s nothing. Nobody would seem to care once the initial normal ‘outrage’ period comes and goes with such an announcement. It will free up capital, or they could simply offload it to PE.

Wesfarmers seem hesitant moving on Target, and Officeworks which should have been offloaded years ago (they did look at this and decided against- whoops)

Time for another episode in the series ElCapitainCranky Cracks The Shits

I ordered Woolies stuff for work (if I’m well enough - sick as a dog and stuck to the house) tomorrow. Did it through Doordash. Usually no big deal, ordered at 6:30pm and expect it within the hour.

7:30pm - No update.
8:30pm - No update and I’m getting the shits.
8:50pm - No update, hit the help button and gets around $7 in credits.
9:00pm - Reached out to support. No help. $15 in credits offered.
9:30pm - Support finally gets around to helping me in a half-arsed manner. For waiting 3 hours, the “best” I am offered is another $10, being passed onto a human from the chat bot, and then I get a phone call basically recapping the situation. Restrain myself from giving the support agent the full ECC treatment.

For waiting 3 hours, nearly 3.5 by the time the Dasher arrives, I should be getting the items AND a full refund or full credit. Believe me, I want to yell right now. 1 stars all around (because you can’t give 0s) and a hell of a shellacking incoming. Oh, and I’m a DashPass customer.

And if you are wondering, why couldn’t I leave the house - I am sick, got a contagious bug, and the car is waiting to be fixed - can’t be driven.

And yes, feel free to call me a c**t, arsehole, anything you like.

I have used door dash and have not experienced anything related to what you have just edoeirejddd . I would too be mad , that is actually pretty bad behaviour from door dash and the company you ordered through.

Door Dash can be really bad but I had a similar thing happen but I ordered it through the Woolworths app but it was delivered by Door Dash. I could see the order go towards my place and then it stopped moving completely I eventually contacted Woolworths after about an hour and got a refund for the order but this was 7pm at night and the availability of delivery windows had been exhausted. They would not use a delivery now order for which was still running which would have meant I got the groceries I needed that night when it was obvious more likely than not that Door Dash driver stole the order. At least it does not happen often but I hope the driver got what he deserved and struck off Door Dash permanently unless they had a very good reason. I hope the same for you as well.

Out of Door Dash and Uber Eats I’ve found Door Dash to be the worse they are more likely to deliver to the incorrect location. I live at the top floor of a 2 floor apartment building most of the time the Uber drivers deliver to my door directly after buzzing them in some leave it at the bottom of the stairs and if they do they get a 1 star rating but more likely than not it is a Door Dash that does it. I’m paying money and in my opinion if they deliver to the foyer of the apartment building that’s not the correct address when the address I provide clearly states the apartment number.

Door Dash also have an annoying policy whereby the fail to deliver orders get reported they must go to a human for review. I had something similar where I ordered a Pizza and it was delivered to the wrong location I reordered it and eventually got a refund. For Uber it’s automated but it seems they make you provide a PIN to the delivery driver for a few orders after.

Updates - I got the order closer to 10pm. This was for an order made at 6:30pm. Did not/would not/could not connect me to a driver until I raised hell. Again, I had to calm myself down because I get white rage with a terrible aftermath.

I was attempting to give the store and driver a 1 star, but only let me rate the store. Woolies gave me everything I wanted and as much fun it is to put shit on a multi billion dollar retail bemouth, I could not really fault Woolies. So I didn’t give a rating.

Doordash have changed my address with no good reason and sent food to the wrong address several suburbs away and it took me a while to tell them I didn’t change my address and that I never got the items. I got the refund but boy it took me a while, and again, was getting pissed off with them.

Woolworths will no longer sell beef sourced from Tasmania from 2027, after it severed its relationship with a local slaughterhouse.

The supermarket chain had purchased around 80 head of cattle every week from an abattoir in Longford, in the Midlands region.

That relationship will cease in 2027, but the decision has nothing to do with quality.

Rather, it stems from a gap in the supply chain that complicates the stocking of Tasmanian beef.

As reported on 7News tonight:

Target’s new platform is being buoyed alongside the return of the ‘Kids Quality Promise’ – a policy that allows parents to get a refund on kids’ clothing if the child outwears it before they outgrow it.

Online shopping delivery theft is running rampant.

The showroom is set to reopen on Saturday, September 19. A special tribute to Franco taking up an entire wall – currently shielded by a blue sheet - will be unveiled that day, joining the enormous mural of him on a wall of his former Footscray showroom.

The Kinokuniya concept store is on level 2 of Melbourne Central, next to Adairs.

Little Bellies, an Australian-founded baby and toddler snack brand, scored a landmark victory against the supermarket giant in 2024 when the Federal Court found three products in Aldi’s Mamia toddler snack range infringed its design copyright.

Aldi’s Mamia baby puffs range first went on sale in 2021. Hampden Holdings, which owns the branding for the Baby Bellies, Little Bellies and Mighty Bellies snack ranges, launched legal action against Aldi in 2022 over 11 products, after having already lodged formal complaints.

In the 2024 trial judgment, the court found Aldi had followed the “architecture” of the Hampden products. However, using a competitor’s product for inspiration does not necessarily amount to copyright infringement — it is a question of degree and fact.

Aldi appealed the 2024 ruling, while Little Bellies lodged a cross-appeal arguing the judgment should have extended to additional products within the Mamia range.

After more than half a century and its “Safeway” roots, Woolworths has just said goodbye to its historic Mulgrave site in Melbourne’s south east near the Monash Fwy:

Opening in the early 70s, it was the corporate offices and distribution hub for Safeway in Victoria and remained that way until around 2008 (despite being bought by Woolworths in the mid-1980s and many roles and departments being absorbed by the Sydney HQ), when the company underwent a major structural and brand overhaul, including progressively changing to the “Woolworths” name. This period also saw all ‘home brand’ packaging stop printing the Safeway Mulgrave address on the back, replacing with the Bella Vista one.

Victoria’s Woolworths national distribution/logistics centre is now at Truganina, a massive state-of-the-art automated facility. There’s also regional DCs at Dandenong South and Hoppers Crossing. And online shopping centres at West Footscray and Carrum Downs. The Melbourne office is now at Richmond.

Woolworths just opened a huge fully automated main national distribution facility in Moorebank in Sydney, which saw three old centres shut down and more than 1000 employees made redundant in recent years. One of these was Woolworths’ old headquarters site at Yennora (cnr Fairfield & Dursley Rds) in Sydney’s west.

Just did my shopping, and had a evacuation drill take place in Coles as I spent my hard earned. The poor employees having to tell people to keep shopping as people didn’t hear the two warnings before hand…
