Supermarkets and Retail

Geez I hope not. Kpedos anyone?

that’s because Ikea have been doing it for donkeys years and have standards. I stand by their Kaniva (???) shelves.

Because they treat their customers like children.

If they want to really lean into the nostalgia, they’ll put a Holly’s cafe in there.

I thought that K Home store looked familiar. They’ve taken over the Decathlon store at Box Hill South.

According to Instagram, Decathlon Box Hill South closed on August 4 last year.

Seven “news” ran a report on K Home tonight. Colour looks different to the original article.

Also seen during the break an ad for K Mart; what a coincidence

I like the standalone K logo. Should ditch the “mart” bit that ages it terribly

Coles Online is down.

Those with collection orders are being advised to ring the store.

Coles began to sell 16 new treats from Marks and Spencer at its stores from Wednesday this week, until June 30. The range includes The Big Daddy chocolate bar.

I was at Coles at lunchtime today and could not believe it still had hot cross buns on quick sale, two months after Easter.

Also saw the Marks & Spencer products on the shelves.

The chocolate wasn’t too bad when we got some over there, was only £3.50 though. I’d probably buy some if it went on promo here.

Chocolate pricing here is absurd. I noticed Lindt blocks had a full price of like $9 in the supermarket yesterday.

Apparently the bigger players have already locked in cocoa pricing for this year (at prior higher rates) and got blindsided by the drops. No drops until 2027 in pricing apparently. Cadbury is on half at Coles currently ($4). Not that long ago that was the normal price!

What are they thinking? It’s not Christmas yet.

Confirmed today that Barbeques Galore had gone into receivership. 62 company-owned stores would shut their doors, but 27 franchise stores would not be impacted.

Yahoo News understands that the technology being trialled is an in-aisle motion sensor, designed to send an alert if suspicious activity is detected.

This could include someone sweeping large amounts of products off the shelf in a short space of time. The technology is meant to target organised retail crime, particularly those taking high-value items in large quantities.

A Coles spokesperson told Yahoo News that a small number of people aren’t doing the right thing, which has led to strict measures.
