Woolworths closed today at $28.53, up 92c or 3.33% from Wednesday.
I had a little trip back in time at Coles Cooma on late Wednesday afternoon.
No self service checkouts! I had to wait about 5-10 mins to be served by a person at a “12 items or less checkout”.
I had the same experience at Thirroul, a couple of weeks ago. Only two checkouts with queues and the supermarket looked retro.
I saw this shop sign in the small Victorian town of Omeo today. Never knew they had such demand for “cuckoo” clocks, and I’ve never seen it spelt like that before. I haven’t seen such a clock for ages.
Can’t argue with this I lived in Geelong in 8 months the amount of drugos and drunks high and being a nucence to the rest of us.
Myer has launched its Christmas 2025 campaign, featuring Brisbane singer-songwriter Sycco (Sasha McLeod).
IIRC this ad was first seen last weekend, 26th October 2025.
From a Block recording I made via GTV Melbourne that very night.
I know a few stores like that — the kind you look at and think, “How on earth are they still in business?” There’s actually a place in Brisbane that repairs string instruments (cellos, violins, violas, etc.). They stay afloat because they have an excellent reputation among professional musicians and offer a mail-in repair service. They needed a workshop to operate from, so they attached one to a small retail space where they sell accessories to generate extra income. I’m assuming that’s what’s happening here, too.
True, but this one is in a very small remote town with a population of 1,500. That makes it even more remarkable to me.
Can’t find NZ Essentials butter anymore there is this for the same price
I ended up buying Western Star on special for $7.70..
Someone online said it tastes weird and is a white colour
Why the heck are we importing butter now from the USA?
Coles has launched its Christmas 2025 commercial.
The same article reveals that
On the corner of Bourke and Swanston, Japanese retailer Muji has announced a new three-storey flagship store at ISPT’s Midtown Mall starting in 2027.
This will replace the existing Telstra flagship store which has been at the site for a decade.
Muji currently has a store at nearby Emporium.
Was in Target today in probably the first time in a year. I noticed they are selling high priced clothing like $80 handbags and dresses which I thought was weird. Then you have all this Anko stuff, got me thinking what on earth is the strategy here.
We noted they also have not gone Anko in Bedding ie sheets, it’s all still Target and over $100.
Over at BIGW the had installed those gates like you see at Coles, however when leaving everyone needs to exit via the Self Serve. Staff seemed to busy to be checking all the bags when leaving so not sure if that’s stopping theft but I guess it might stop people walking out with trolleys of stuff.
Weren’t Apple interested in that site in the past….such a pain to have to travel to the suburbs to find an apple store
I’m very surprised to hear that Melbourne doesn’t have an Apple store in the city..
Every other capital city in the country has one except Hobart.
The closest we’ve gotten to a city Apple Store was that whole fiasco at Federation Square.
There has been rumours of other sites over the years, nothing has ever gotten anywhere though.
The First Choice Liquor Market at Banksia is currently being transformed into a Liquorland Warehouse.
Target Charlestown (Newcastle NSW), only 4 days now until the store closes.
Floor space now probably 1/8th of it’s original size with white sheets everywhere blocking areas at the sides/back off to the public.
Lady in store told me they reopen as Kmart on 4th December. So gives them 18 days to fully focus on the changeover.
