Super Radio Network

Feel like Bill was quite revolutionary back in the mid 90’s with his “The Heat” brand, set the example which DMG copied and then fully commercialised with the Star/Hot broadcasting hubs while the former fell away a bit

2GF 89.5 on this morning. Wasn’t there yesterday. Caught an ID saying “and now on 89.5”. No RDS and unable to tell if 103.9 has been decommissioned as 2WAY is too strong on the headlands.

(Update: 103.9 is still on)

Thanks for the update!

Last time when 89.5 was on, I couldn’t get RDS until I got up to Woolgoolga Headland and then it was just blanks.

Who is doing breakfast on 2GF now that Richie is running for the state seat with election this coming March?

Still on air until nomination day/caretaker period begins?

Full time testing from last Friday apparently. Assume by Xmas it will be on air “full time” with night lights on 103.9 and 1206.

I can confirm there was nothing on 89.5 yesterday morning. So it must have commenced late yesterday or this morning.

Once again it is for internal use to monitor the stations if they are on or off air

Which I’m guessing means that the sound is taken from terrestrial reception rather than from the raw studio output (before it goes to the TX).

Nah more to see if the playout is working etc
I am sure @Paul_Covo_Covington can fill us in more

To be fair, that link is provided as a public stream on the 1047fm website.
It looks like it’s running directly off a server at the studio, so it’ll kill their internet connection if too many people tune in.

Would only allow 2-4 connections anyway due to the program and how it works

Not sure if it lasted too long… www.fm1047.com.au has gone offline.

A ballsy move by their web designer to have “Complaints” as the first tab on their menu.

Is it their most popular page? Or the main reason people might visit their website?

Depends if a written warning has been written, signed sealed and delivered to the broadcasters… 14 days is the usually the ideal time frame to warn the tenant of the circumstances if they don’t don’t fix up the bill… then yes, by all means go for gold and switch it off… next warning letter is they collect their equipment or it will be sold to recover the costs of the space used in said period of time.

I would’ve thought listeners visit radio station websites to find out about the line-up, prizes, contact details, etc. haha…

What more would you want then this very extensive program guide line up with “non descript presenter”

Still better designed then the 2SM website.

According to his Facebook page and the 2SM Super Network website, Dean Mackin is back with the network listed as hosting Weekend Afternoons.

Coverage of 89.5 2GF is slightly better than 104.7. I assume as the transmitter is new.

The RDS isn’t set right. The station name appears as pictured below

On air saying that Boxing Day is AM switch off (and 103.9 too I guess)
