Super Radio Network

Ace Regional stations have updated their homepages, with news items now featured as opposed to shows/feature articles.

E.g. 99.5 & 99.9 Gippsland’s TRFM

This template would work better for 2SM’s new website - as there is quite a lot of new content published each day, making the new 2SM website more refreshed (similar to 2GB’s website).

In fairness to SRN, the new layout of their websites are excellent, with help from ACE.

The only thing missing is live streaming.

the chances of that happening are the same as Arsenal winning a UEFA Champions League title!

If Arsenal do win, then I look forward to streaming the BOG stations :joy:

I don’t know anything of the fortunes of the various EPL franchises, though I’m guessing it’s about as likely as snow in Sydney.

Unfortunately many of the websites are already out of date and not being maintained. Many don’t list the correct studio phone number.

The 4AK and 4WK sites don’t show the next logos.

And Cruze FM 93.5 doesn’t have an online presence with its new name.

NEW FM and the FM Super Radio Network feed look to be running the same log over Easter, but not the same feed, as NEW FM is about 1/2 a song ahead of MAX FM Taree.

NewFM rarely runs the exact same feed as the network. Probably only overnights.

The FM network is also doing a Non Stop 90s Long Weekend music feature. It’s sounding terrific!!

Why does the AM network air TWO AFL games on Saturday given its network is nearly all in NRL territory? And no NRL games. Seems odd to me.

Normally I would agree and yes strange decision.

As someone who loves both it’s nice to have both codes to listen to (AFL on SRN, NRL on ABC). So no complaints from me.

And afl is better than listening to Beryl from Parkes call up and talk about her cup of tea and back lawn…….

I dunno, Beryl seems entertaining lol

I can tell you, it isn’t…

Sooner the stupid wall to wall talkback is gone from the heritage stations the better. Automated music with AI back announcements would be an improvement.

As it would be for 99% of commercial radio in Australia

I remember the SRN stations did take the continuous call team NRL but it only lasted about a year and never returned I remember listening to 2GZFM that did take the show when working on the farm near Forbes where local station 2PK took talking sport or something similar. Thus would have been in the mid 90s so you would have thought taking the CCT would be a good choice given time has passed from any dispute they may have had back then.

The NRL (and AFL - both Live Nation I think?) calls they take now are probably cheaper than what Nine Radio would charge for their CCT coverage. Which would be why.

It’s just interesting that the FM stations didn’t really take many network shows then 5 years or so they started taking Kyle and Jacko so their view of taking networked shows changed and I would have thought that would continue on AM as well where they would take CCT.

From memory it was a pay dispute between the late Bill and CCT/Macquarie Radio. Bills weren’t paid and the show ended on the network.

As mentioned above, the agreement with SEN would be much cheaper I’d imagine.

Can anyone confirm - what did 2SM take whilst their sister regional stations took CCT? That’s very unique to have had some SRN stations take some programming - not all.

If my memory is correct it was a show similar to Talking Sport.
