Yes for the third consecutive week News Breakfast ranked second.

If that continues, one of the big TV stories of this year will definitely be News Breakfast establishing itself as Sunrise’s main challenger

Goes to show that a lot of viewers just want the news without all the fluff that the other shows get into.

Was going to say they could have still had Easter Eggs on the desk like usual. Notice that Today had some with Dickie.

Both commercial breakfast shows made Saturday’s top 20. Sunrise was on 357,000 with Today 246,000. News Breakfast was about 30k lower than Today.

Sunday Sunrise dropped about 20k from last week but still easily made the top 20 for last night. However, Today and ABC Breakfast were each down more than 50,000 week-on-week. Sunrise beat second-placed News Breakfast by 80,000. Today was another 7,000 further behind in third place.

Should Seven be doing a Savannah set up at home for Sam? I appreciate she has health concerns but her Socials show her active and outdoors. So I’d say she could host. She’s missed a lot of a vital time to not be on air.

Is that necessary though? There’s the possibility of it being clunky with the hosts in separate locations. Nat is familiar (and doing great job IMO) and there’s a number of other fills ins that could be available, something that CH9 doesn’t have. And, as a back up, Sam could be brought back in the long run if, say, Kochie and Nat and others have to be quarantined.

I think CH7 sees home broadcasts as a last resort. Is there a point to just doing it for the sake of it?

Just for the sake of Sam missing so much of a vital point in time was my only thought. Maybe it’s a non issue.

They prob using it as a good opportunity for her to use a good chunk of her leave entitlement. She would have a lot banked after so many years at the network and it becomes a liability on their books. Would suit her as well.

It comes down to her personal choice to decide what is best for her at this time. Some people are really paranoid working with the current situation if you have a pre-existing illness.
Social media posts don’t always show the real picture of someone’s life.A person can look healthy and active but that necessarily mean everything is ok.
Personally l think Nat is doing an outstanding job hosting with Kochie.

Which should be a reason why Sam should be considering coming back sooner rather than later. She risks being “Graeme Goodings-ed” out of the role if Seven decides Nat is performing better and they don’t want to break up the new team.

Or “Chris Reason-ed”?
