6am start in Qld. Shirvo still on the GC.
Some SEQ weather coverage but more focused on the GC where most of their reporters are. Only one at Brighton.
There will be a lot of damage on Brisbane’s Northside when it’s safe for them to get reporters out.

Paul Burt saved a lizard and they filmed it. A wildlife ranger saw this on TV and came down to Currumbin to collect. They interviewed her and discussed what people should do if they find injured wildlife. An unplanned angle that was informative and refreshing amongst all the repeated stuff.

My face too when I saw how cold and dark that set looks from the wide angles.
This kind of thing only looks good when you have a proper finished wrap around set, or newsroom backdrop like 10.

Sunrise had Tamra Bow reporting on the Hilton Fire. Sam Mac did weather from the Gold Coast and Sally Pearson did her usual report also from Gold Coast. But the coverage of the Hilton Fire was seemed a lot less than the competition.

that’s good then. No injuries, fire out within an hour, certainly didn’t need expansive rolling coverage.

So does anyone know the official status of Berret’s role? Is he just Monday and Friday now?
It was twice this week. He has been once a week for the past month or so (going back to before Tour de Cure and Supercars). It could be long service leave, but unusual to opt to do a couple of days still. Worth watching I think…
