The viewers would recognise the reporters from their own city/state news so that would be a positive for those places. The experience is being a roving reporter vs just stuck in your own neighbourhood.
I really don’t understand the reason for criticism.
There was no criticism. I was questioning how economically efficient it is to constantly fly inter-state reporters to Sydney and put them up for a few nights every weekend vs using people from the Sydney newsroom or hiring an additional Sydney reporter.
They had a TikToker who can speak multiple languages on this morning and part of the interview was quizzing them on Aussie slang. How embarrassing. It shows how uncultured this show actually is. One of the questions too was ‘Is it annoying that people can just Google Translate languages now?’
Kristy Mayr was great yesterday morning from that comic con, she did well getting right into it and playing along on-air. Always comes across as a friendly face and pleasant.
Such an underappreciated, long-timer at HSV, has held several senior newsroom positions and covered a number of major stories and breaking news, think somebody said previously she also goes back to Today Tonight. She appears to have been the main ‘WS Correspondent’ for a few years now, alternating with Hope Wilson.
She was in the press pack in Feb 2014 with a shattered Rosie Batty (later Australian of the Year), will never forget that morning after, following her 12 year old son Luke Batty being hit with a cricket bat and stabbed to death by his dad, who was then shot dead by Police.
I think Nat and David are a strong duo particularly when there is breaking news. They appear to have a close friendship and respect. Both journos.
Also, very good to see Sam Mac back and showing why he is the best at weather. The beard was an interesting addition
