And in the past they probably had back ups in the studio as well, just in case, but cost cutting would have put an end to that.

This makes no sense…
Tarsh sacked from the 12.00 news, which Sally is now often the host for, or TMS, now Tarsh is presenting when Woi is away when it could’ve been Sally if Liam hadn’t already been filing in for her on the news again.

Is Tarsh freelance or casual etc? I thought 7 made her redundant.

I’m glad that the relationship between Seven and Tarsh is still amicable enough that it means Tarsh can come back from time to time.

It looks like they wanted to take staff off contract but now realise they don’t have enough staff to cover all the shifts and filling in for absences. I always thought it was a mistake for them to drop Tarsh because she had always been a great newsreader but she had often also been a great fill-in for Sunrise and The Morning Show.
Maybe she will still be the person they turn to but as a casual rather than on contract.

I would say she is freelancing for Sunrise. She was doing this prior to taking on the midday news. Hopefully we see more of her over the summer.

They’ve done this a few times over the years.

It’s how she started at 7 to begin with… freelance on Sunrise. Evidently someone at 7 likes her (maybe Sarah S). And they are reverting to the old arrangement.

Has anyone seen Shaun White on 7 recently?
No not recently but his LinkedIn still says he works for Seven but part-time he could just be on holidays. He did a lot of his crosses from Brisbane as of late. He is good I hope they haven’t got rid of him.
