Sunrise

That opener for the Queensland news sweeping in from the left hand side of the set is awful, keep it tight or have Bianca just present from the screen to the RHS side of the set.

Was the content with Nat and Kochie live or on a one hour delay in Queensland?

Delayed.

It would have to be delay cause then what do they air at 8am hour?

The Nat and Kochie segments are obviously all pre-recorded and played out at the required times.

Sunrise ratings for Brisbane are in, but bear in mind there was a Queen’s B’day holiday in the state and Sunrise was also extended to 10am.

Today won the SEQ market by 5,000. The numbers for both shows were close to the same as the previous two Monday, though Sunrise was up on it weekly average.

News Breakfast was way lower than usual, 20k behind Today. More people chose to watch the delayed main channel show than the live show on ABC News.

What happens when there is a major national story of interest out of Queensland? How do they cover it in NSW, VIC, etc.

It would be live in all 3 markets. If say a massive flood or fire happened they would cover it the same as they always would.

Can’t wait for the day this set is gone.

It actually wouldn’t take much to make it a lot better IMO. Change the light fixtures/Perspex so that the lights and lightboxes can change colours and replace that print (sports backdrop) with a couple of monitors.

Obviously a fully new set would be ideal and should be seriously considered but if they can’t afford that, some small changes like these would lift it significantly.

We know that either way (new or updated) they’d find a way to make it look even worse! :joy: :joy:

Kochie copping quite a bit of hate on Twitter for his question about ICAC to Scott Morrison this morning.

I know, this has been pointed out a few times before. But…

Presumably most of us here are familiar with “Fox & Friends” on the Fox News Channel? That is the type of program Sunrise (and to some extent, Today on Nine) is slowly turning into an Australian equivalent of.

Surely if the orange and blue background that they use nationally was used here it would be much better. And use the same graphic on the front of the desk as Sydney uses too.

Nothing wrong with the question, it’s what he didn’t ask and let the PM get away with.

The benefit of sweeping in and showing the awful set is there is no doubt they are presenting live from Brisbane.

Quite enjoying Cassidy’s blunt criticism of recent.

Though granted without Sam Armytage the program’s become tamer in recent times so they’ve kind of shifted away from that kind of aggressive, vapid w**kfest that is Fox & Friends.

I think some people on here need to be a bit more realistic.

Sunrise are nowhere near Fox & Friends, or any program that is mostly platforming right-wing, conservative views.

If anyone can provide multiple examples of Sunrise reporting with right-wing bias, please go ahead.

What would you say about having Prue MacSween yabbering on about Australia needing another ‘Stolen Generation’ unchallenged 3 years ago?
