Sunrise (2015-Sept 2020)

This is interesting as I thought the house had been dismantled…

That would be the new Big Brother house in Manly, obviously.

Yes obviously but there was talk that the house was dismantled after filming concluded

Which has been dismantled…

Anarchy in America, a global pandemic and Sunrise are cross promoting Big Brother. Great to see their priorities. This is absolutely pathetic. Even if the world wasn’t collapsing it would still be grotesque. Sunrise have literally no respect for viewers it seems.

Was about to post the same sentiments.

Someone at Seven is out of their mind if they think this is appropriate. “Read the room”, Seven. There is no appetite for a stupid network promotional opportunity in the midst of a pandemic, at a time when our biggest ally is tearing itself apart and the economy is collapsing.

Which is most likely a pile of rubble by now :joy:

Seriously, can’t they just stay in their studio and do the news and stuff as usual? No amount of glorious self-promotion is going to affect how Big Brother is going to rate. There’s so much more happening in the world than that show but no Michael Pell thinks he’s the best and wants to focus on the trivial rubbish like Big Brother when there’s still a pandemic circling the world and America spinning out of control.

Some serious misinterpretation by Michael Pell here.

I’d say if things escalate in America today, they’d be wise to abort the outside broadcast to cover the serious news from the studio.

It shouldn’t take an escalation of events in America to abandon the OB. OBs don’t even rate well and the fact that there are two major news events circling the world should be enough to keep them at Martin Place.

Sunrise was on fantastic form earlier with their bushfire and coronavirus coverage. They need to get back into that form for coverage of the American protests. Leave the Big Brother claptrap to The Morning Show.

Well it is only Tuesday so there is still 6 days for things to change, so let’s just take a step back and see how this all plans out, id say they would push it back to the end of next week.

Maybe they have already filmed all the BB parts? They would just make a studio to look like the living room and do the live news then. Maybe even they have filmed the whole thing, and they would say “time for the news” and cross to a host in the studio live?

I thought about that, but I doubt it. The house was dismantled in early April. If they filmed it just before it was dismantled it might have been very hard, because we were going into lockdown at the time, and Sam was supposedly at home recovering from a respiratory infection.

Unless it was filmed before the season started filming.

Sunrise focuses on BB while over on Today they’re actually providing good content. Not very normal for Sunrise, I wonder what’s going on…

Firstly, all they’ve done is announce they’re doing a stunt OB next Monday which (let’s be honest here) is probably (though common sense doesn’t necessarily always apply) going to be canceled anyway if/when events continue to escalate in the US.

Secondly, I don’t understand why some are suggesting Sunrise’s coverage of the US protests have been ‘lackluster’ compared to Today. IMO, both programs have provided outstanding, real-time coverage of events and the reporters involved should be commend for the great job they’re doing

I’m just saying - very unlike them to be doing that and at the wrong time. What would be the point of even announcing it?

Also Sunrise has done well, never meant to say it was lacklustre.

Looks like they’re still pushing on with it https://twitter.com/sunriseon7/status/1267647835027079168

I completely agree, if some people actually watched before jumping on the bandwagon, Amelia Brace was stuck in the middle of the protest this morning delivering fantastic coverage whilst getting shot at with rubber bullets for that matter. 7’s camera man was also punched in the face by police (which was caught on air)

Today delivered fantastic coverage too which they should be credited for. These are unfolding situations.

No excuse for the assault on the Sunrise crew in the US, but never forget for years, Sunrise paid Pauline Hanson to spread her divisive messages against people of colour in the pursuut of ratings before her return to parliament.

What’s that got to do with the police attack on the 7 News crew today?
