Sunrise (2015-Sept 2020)

And without Eddy for at least part of the week as well.

Sunrise and Today had the same average number of viewers last week. Today won Sydney and Melbourne and Sunrise the others.
Here is an article, doesn’t mention anything @TV.Cynic hasn’t.

As you probably know, WIN now has HD. Great viewing although maybe the launch shouldn’t have collided with the night after The Oscars and crosses to Richard Wilkins. Would be nice for Seven at one point.

Some people should not be seen in HD?
Here is an article. It will be interesting to see Sunrise are this week, as they are usually a lot stronger when doing OB, and the ratings for the week.

Star-studded line-up for Parathon

The stars line up this Saturday to help our Paralympians realise their dreams in Rio.

Channel Seven will broadcast the Weekend Sunrise Parathon LIVE from Sydney’s Martin Place this Saturday, March 5 between 7am-12pm AEDT in support of Australia’s Paralympic team.

The Weekend Sunrise team of Andrew O’Keefe, Angela Cox, Simon Reeve, Talitha Cummins, James Tobin and Sally Bowrey will be joined by some of Australia’s screen, sport and music stars to encourage Australia to dig deep and help our Paralympians realise their dreams in Rio.

Channel Seven stars lending their support on Saturday include Better Homes and Gardens and House Rules host Johanna Griggs; My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge and the “Italianos” Luciano and Martino; 7 News and Sunday Night presenter Melissa Doyle; The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies; The Daily Edition’s Sally Obermeder and Tom Williams; Home and Away stars Philippa Northeast and Scott Lee; Saturday Disney’s Candice Dixon, Teigan Nash and Nathan Morgan and Sunday Night reporters PJ Madam and Denham Hitchcock.

Also taking part are a number of para-athletes including the world’s best wheelchair rugby player Ryley Batt, reigning Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Cole and dual World Championship winning wheelchair basketballer Tristan Knowles; as well as Paralympic legends including Australia’s fastest ever speed-skier Michael Milton and International Tennis Hall of Famer David Hall.

Joining the Parathon line-up are sporting legends Michael Clarke and Libby Trickett, while chart-topping singer and current Home and Away guest star Samantha Jade, 2015 X Factor winner Cyrus and Aussie blues icon Russell Morris will all perform live.

Members of the public are encouraged to come down to Martin Place to be a part of the telecast, meet their favourite personalities and experience exciting fundraising activations hosted by Australian Paralympic Team partners Cadbury, Woolworths and Toyota.

The Australian Paralympic Committee is aiming to send 170 Paralympic athletes from 15 sports to Rio at a cost of $7 million. All money raised above the Rio funding target will be used for community driven programs to identify future generations of Paralympians and inspire people with disabilities.

Maybe all those stories of rivalry and sabotage are just crazy made up nonsense…

The house siege in Logan this morning really shows why Sunrise and Today show not be delayed in QLD.

Their posts on Facebook were reporting the siege was over before it had even aired on TV here, which caused a lot of confusion for a lot of people watching and commenting.

Not very good for the people in the area to be given old information.

6.10am Audio and video are out again this morning. Same thing happened earlier in the week.

It’s been advertised as 7am all week, even mentioned in 7News Brisbane last night, but WS is live in Qld this morning from 6am.

Andrew, Angela, Talitha and Sally are doing an OB from Martin Place while Simon is at the ‘Call Centre’ in Brekky Central. BTW, it is being broadcast LIVE in QLD from 6am-11am (7am-12pm AEDST).

Perth has their own call centre for theParathon. Maybe so they can go beyond 12pm AEDT. Is today the first time the WS logo has flipped with the 7 logo, rather than just the Sunrise logo? The “live” logo also has WS on it.

Is today the first time the WS logo has flipped with the 7 logo
I am pretty sure that the Sunrise logo has swivelled with the 7 logo from the beginning of the relaunch. However, I have never seen a ‘Weekend Sunrise’ bug.

There was also Kylie Gillies, JT (after he left Mardi Gras preparations), Sally Obemeder, Tom Williams, Mel Doyle, Jo Griggs, Ryan Phelan, Guy Sebastian, Saturday Disney hosts, MKR and H&A stars. Performances by Samantha Jade and Russell Morris.

Yes the Sunrise logo has, but I think today was the first time we’ve seen the WS logo.

Is today the first time the WS logo has [been used] rather than just the Sunrise logo?
From what I saw, the Weekend Sunrise logo was only used for the Parathon so post 10am, where some graphics were modified. However, it did make a brief appearance at the start of Sunday’s show before being removed. I don’t really care either way, both look fine IMO. Speaking of the Parathon, it was announced they raised more than 1.5 million dollars of the 7 million target, good effort by the team.
Making changes to the set already?
No noticeable set changes I saw on Weekend Sunrise yesterday, although the crash during Mel’s news bulletin on Friday night did make me think. The only thing that changed were the stools at the desk. When they first relaunched, they said that the stools were the same ones from the old set and that the new ones hadn’t arrived. So after three weeks, The Project style chair made their first appearance.

And, even with the Parathon on Saturday, Weekend Sunrise was still beaten by Weekend Today by a considerable amount. According to OzTam, Today even won in Perth! Adelaide was Weekend Sunrise’s only win. What is it? Is it because Today are winning through the week, making a stronger front on the weekend? Is it that viewers don’t like or maybe feel that they don’t ‘know’ Angela Cox and Sally Bowrey as they are apart of the extended-extended family? Or is it the fact viewers like the changes that have occurred to the weekend version of Today and the never ending rotation of guest presenters?

Well, I’ve mentioned a few times already but the massive banners shit me. I seriously find it difficult to watch with all that shit on screen blocking everything. I have switched off Weekend Sunrise in the last few weeks because of it. I have watched more of Studio 10 and Today than I ever have before.

Yeah the lower thirds are way too big. They may be the same size as the old on a whole, but because they are a square white slab, it’s way more noticeable and intrusive.

Like many others I’ve also switched off from Sunrise recently and started watching Today.

I like the new set, but the new graphics are large and annoying, the presenters have been annoying me, I can’t stand the new weather guy, the on the field reporters often don’t seem to know what they’re talking about and it just doesn’t feel very professional anymore at all. Not to mention Sunrise isn’t in HD, which annoys me too.

I was always a big Sunrise fan and have only made the switch to Today very recently, and I’m glad I have.
