Another huge +10 point win for Nine on Sunday. Seven improved 2.5 points, 10 was steady while ABC dropped almost 3 points from the previous Sunday. Seven was still able to win Perth while Nine won all other markets.

Number one show was Married At First Sight with 60 Minutes that followed ranking fourth for the night. Nine Late News then placed sixth to outrate the reality offerings from 10 and Seven.

The Amazing Race was steady with the previous week and managed to outrate the debut of Seven’s Ultimate Tag that disappointed with 447,000. The news in key demos was also not good with Tag ranking 7th in 25-54, just below The Sunday Project.

For ABC, Harrow shed 100k viewers from the previous week.

Not a good start for Ultimate Tag. It will be an uphill struggle for the rest of the series.

I think it will die a quick death.

Expect lover numbers tonight… 300k or lowers.

Nine continued its Sunday win, thanks to Married at First Sight, 60 MInutes and Nine News. Nine news won in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide while Brisbane and Perth viewers watched Seven News.
The premiere of Ultimate Tag struggled, being beaten by Abc News, and The amazing race. Some people took to social media, expressing their negativity towards the show.
I think Seven will be desperate to win a ratings week. When will seven win an official ratings week?

I just don’t know what seven were thinking with ultimate tag. It wasn’t good. But they also launched it when a lot of the country has a long weekend.

No matter how much Seven tries to spin Ultimate Tag’s numbers, the start of their ratings year has been an unmitigated disaster. They pinned all their hopes on stripping two shows which weren’t designed to be stripped and it’s resulted in destroying Holey Moley’s chances of doing decently whilst potentially having UT being an ‘anchor’ on their schedule for the next few weeks. Not to mention they’ve had to break open the cupboard for their Wednesday line-up even though we’re only a few weeks into ratings

Yes, one night isn’t a trend and UT’s ratings could increase over the next few nights. However, it’s hard to see it doing so based on their launch figure

Ultimate Tag was dead on arrival but The Amazing Race isn’t doing a lot better either. Sure it’s better in demos but you would think with such weak competition on Seven that it would capture more of the non-MAFS audience. The season has lost momentum as it’s dragged on.

I feel that shows such as Holey Moley and Ultimate Tag aren’t going to cut it against MAFS. Even The Amazing Race seems weak but lucky for Ten, the ratings have been consistent and it’s done decently well in the demos. I feel that Seven should have put out Big Brother or even The Voice instead. And in Ten’s case, I’m A Celebrity head to head with MAFS.

I am actually quite surprised that in a sporty country like Australia (with the exception of Ninja Warrior), the adventure type shows don’t do very well - Survivor, HM, UT and TAR.

You don’t think Survivor has done well?

I can’t remember the ratings for Survivor in the past few years but I thought they were only slightly better than TAR?

The lowest rating ep last year was 548,000 (before consolidated), most eps rated in the 600k’s and 700k’s. I think that’s more then slightly better then TARA.

Oh OK. I was aiming for higher than 700ish but given the current TV landscape, that’s probably a success for Survivor or any other shows.

Yes I’m still confused at why they didn’t consider Big Brother (especially considering it’s all ready to go) after Holey Moley or even along with Holey Moley. Big Brother Sunday-Tuesday and Holey Moley/Ultimate Tag on Wednesday would’ve destroyed 10 for good and be competitive with Nine.

Guess what Holey Moley and Ultimate Tag flopping means? More reboots :face_vomiting:

I think having Ultimate Tag 3 nights per week will increase viewer fatigue. Firstly, Seven had Holey Moley (where the ratings started off well, but dwindled during the series) and Now Ultimate Tag. I think that having Ultimate Tag twice per week would be OK.
Now Seven will have The Voice (as reboot) coming for next year. I predict that this show will likely to fail.

Because HM and UT formats have a target audience towards family and children. There really isn’t much wide appeal for the shows in my eyes.

I actually think the voice is coming sooner than next year
