Something’s not right there champ :joy:

Another dominant Sunday for Nine with the Married At First Sight final with a rare win across all markets and very dominant performance in the key demographic groups. Seven still remained competitive while 10 was lucky to stay ahead of SBS.

1.48 million for Married AFS topped the night. That compared to 1.98 million in 2019 and 1.76 million in 2018. Nine won all the other timeslot as well with Nine News, 60 Minutes and the News Special.

ABC’s Stateless finished on a high with 469,000.

Jamie Oliver justed scraped into the top 20 just ahead of Seven’s movie

9Rush ranked last in commercial muiltichannels in total people and key demos with 0.8% share. With a 7pm launch the 1900-2400 share figure was 1.0%

Worse than their tragic Saturday.
They should’ve launched master chef tonight rather than waiting for a week.

Huge night for 9. I am not going to sit here and say DWTS did a fantastic job but it obviously took some viewers away from Married.

I think COVID took away viewers from MAFS than DWTS.

Nine wasted MAFS in non-ratings… as will 10 with the MCA launch. Still, launching on Easter Monday against little competition I think will work well for them.

I’m not sure that is the case. The replacement last night was Jamie Oliver. Anything is better then that!

I don’t really understand that.

Good numbers for the MAFS Final. The Seven News Special against it did well too.

Ten? Ouch! Take the hint. Jamie Oliver does NOT rate in primetime anymore.

That’s the result I expected 9Rush to launch with, Nine might’ve hoped for a little more, as there were a lot of promos advising the launch time and won the ratings an hour before it launched (6pm) to further reach viewers, but as with any new channel, it’ll build gradually over time and I still think it’ll rate better than 7food Network in total people and key demos.

Seven News, ABC News and the Ruby Princess special all did really well seeing as it was the Married grand final. Seven’s main channel share over 18% and their multi-channels looked higher too.

Even though it was the highest ratings of this season, Married did not seem to gain any viewers from the move to Sunday nor the ‘lockdown’, and it is way down on 2019.

Nine’s best ratings in 2020 came with a 50%+ share and over 1.9m metro for the tennis during the middle of the tournament.

10, ouch :grimacing:

Nine’s just killin’ it! Great numbers.

Any info you can provide on the new 6pm Sunday bulletin on 10, how’s it faring you against 7/9 demo wise? Are they coding it separately or combined?

It seems to be bridging a better gap between news and the 6:30pm portion of The Project nicely, which seems to be up slightly. Good to see it’s an advanced scheduled too, so they are persevering with it.

@turdall  Not bad for a 17 year old movie that’s not exactly well known and on Married night. Cynic also alluded “The Greatest Showman” on Channel 7 (didn’t start until around quarter to 9) rated around or over 300k, which is good for a repeat and seeing all the competition. I’m sure both helped get Channel 7 to over 18% and 7mate to 4% too.

With more people forced home last night, I expected bigger from MAFS.
Jamie rated about the same it normally would but against 1.4 mil it saw 10’s share destroyed. Maybe 10 are right waiting a week for Masterchef, but they need to start finding shows to plug the gaps, rather than Bondi and Jamie or a British doco with no promotion.

Not too bad. 22nd total people. 13th in 25-54 where it had a 98% retention from 10 News. In 16-39 it ranked 13th and higher than the 5pm bulletin.

I agree with Chris’ prediction that the MAFS finale would have done better if Nine didn’t play scheduling games and aired it last Wednesday as scheduled.

Thanks for the info!

I’m surprised MAFS didn’t get past 1.5 million. But then again this season hasn’t rated as well as last year’s so it’s probably expected that the finale will be lower. Still excellent shares for Nine even though they probably would’ve wished for the astronomical shares they had last year.

I’m even more surprised at how well the Ruby Princess did in TP. Though it didn’t sound well produced it certainly caught the hype train and lured viewers craving for COVID-19 news. Maybe Seven should consider a new flagship current affair program on Sundays that focusses on relevant news in the past week (without sensationalism of course) and not the tabloid gunk on Sunday Night in recent years.

10, how tragic. Even their Saturdays rated better.
