Great launch for Lego Masters but not as high as many predictions – big turn off to 60 Minutes as viewers turned over to Seven.

MRK’s final was pummelled in the process with the final rating lower than many episodes with a sub one million winner’s announcement. House Rules started better than last year but couldn’t hold onto the lead-in from Seven News.

Bachelor on Ten was on par with recent numbers but could only boost Ten slightly.

Nine won in Sydney and Brisbane with Seven ahead in the other markets.

Good start for Lego Masters dominating in 18-49 and 25-54 demos. (The Australian reported earlier that Nine has been forecasting Lego Masters would attract 450,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo, so 676,000 in the age group exceeded Nine’s expectations)
Seven fought back after 8.30pm with MKR reclaiming some lost ground. Seven News won again in Melbourne with another thrilling finish to an AFL match (Hawthorn v Carlton). House Rules’ launch figures were the highest since season 3 in 2015 (791,000).

Be interesting to see tonights ratings for Lego Masters. I struggled to get into it last night. Will try again tonight.

Brilliant start for Lego Masters.

I wonder if MKR would have taken more viewers away from it than House Rules did, if they had gone head to head.

Alarm bells should be going off at 10 about Bachelor in Paradise - it should be doing better both in the demos and total viewers.

Lego Masters did as well as I thought it would after seeing it while House Rules held up better than most were expecting it to. It’ll be interesting to see over the next few nights what Masterchef’s return does to the three-way reality battle

Strong debut for Lego Masters. Now it will be interesting to see if it can sustain the audience.

MKR finale doesn’t even top the magic million and an average launch for House Rules. Seven just fed viewers to Lego Masters.

It was a really bad decision to air Bachelor in Paradise randomly on a Sunday. A lot of viewers wouldn’t have even realised it was on. If they were going to air it Sunday they should have it Monday as well and make it a proper final week with it on every night. It’s just so out of place. Ten are basically killing the show with the scheduling this week, they only have themselves to blame for rushing it and bumping it for Masterchef so soon. Still it was an improvement on Sunday Night Takeaway last week.

Lego Master’s debut massive as expected, higher than I was thinking, to nowhere close to what many thought. I reckon it has a S1 Little Big Shots feel, in time probably will crash and burn. Tonight will be interesting, more so if a drop off - how many and looking at the rival shows, etc.

Seven should’ve tried MKR at 7pm and might’ve been bigger and affected Lego Masters more, then try House Rules close to 9pm when the competition subsided.

Wow, this movie started around 10pm. Good programming keeping many of the lead-in demographics. Even outranking 9Go! movie and everything else.

Even if MKR started at 7pm, I don’t think it would have done much better than what it pulled. It’s just been a season where while it’s performed decently, it never really gained momentum (mostly due to MAFS but it’s also a result of it being a ‘tired’ format).

Seven must be at least slightly concerned to not see House Rules in the Top 5 of any demos

That is some of the highest figures 10 has had on a Sunday and against two premiers.

Great start for Lego Masters. House Rules didn’t start off well. MKR did as expected.

So a lot of people like Turdall were abusing me when I said that Ten launched Bachelor In Paradise the wrong way. They assured me that the numbers were going to pick up. Well, look what has happened.

Ten has made a complete mess of this. To top things off, this week BIP is suddenly on Sunday, not on Monday, then Tuesday at 830, Wednesday at 8.30 then Thursday until 11pm? Seriously, how can anyone keep up. Ten you have stuffed up again.

Could’ve been worse.

Lego Masters did actually well, I thought it would’ve launched to around 800k. I’ll continue watching this as it’s only for 3 weeks anyway and those Lego creations they’ve done are just amazing.
I thought all Marvel films are with Nine or did Seven acquire The Avengers specially to bank in on Endgame buzz?

Hold on - you were saying that Ten should have delayed the BIP launch to a Sunday rather than launch it the Tues after the MAFS finale. If they did what you were suggesting that would mean that they would now be even further behind in the season when Masterchef launched. Plus the show rates better on Tuesdays/Wednesdays than any episodes that have aired on Thursday or Sunday’s. So I think they launched it as good as it was going to do.

I do agree though that Ten have stuffed up the show with inconsistent programming especially in it’s final week rushing out the last episodes on different night and in later timeslots.

Nine has only the rights to Marvel movies released in 2016 and beyond, e.g. Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Over time it will get the rights to movies such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panthers, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

Abusing you? Wow you have lived a privileged life if that was abuse to you.

Yep we will see worse tonight.

The advantage of launching on a Sunday night is that there was a huge MAFS audience that was used to tuning in at 7pm on a Sunday night. Bachelor In Paradise could have grabbed this audience, then ran Mon, Tue, Wen like MAFS. All they needed to do was promote the hell out of the lesbian kiss in the week leading up to it.

BIP was actually a good show but Ten have messed up with inconsistent programming. Not everyone has Foxtel IQ

Ah thanks. So this must be Avengers 2012 then rather than Infinity War.

According to Jo Griggs on twitter, House rules was up 29% on last years premiere.
