10’s network share was its best in 10 weeks up 3 points from last week. Nine dropped one and Seven two points with ABC and SBS steady. Nine won overall with wins on the east coast and in key demos. Seven picked up Adelaide and Perth.

The Block was again the top entertainment property with All New Monty second. 10’s Lindy Chamberlain The True Story landed fourth in its timeslot with 365,000.

Later 60 Minutes was down 200k from the previous instalment while Seven’s Spotlight special was well down on recent results for the show.

10 Shake rated 0.4% on its first night.

Big win for Nine News especially in Melbourne; also winning Adelaide.

Very poor start. Although to be fair it did allow 10 to tie with the ABC in terms of network shares.

If Shake’s ratings don’t increase in the long term then 10 will have to rejig its primetime lineup because 0.4% is pretty bad.

I expected more of a share from 10Shake, only 0.4%. 9Rush was 0.8% when it released in April.

Bad night for 10 with a poor start for the Lindy Chamberlain documentary despite blanket promotions, and less than 1% share for the debut of 10 Shake.

The All New Monty was down slightly on last week while ABC’s Murdoch doco suffered a big drop.

ABC’s coverage of Daniel Andrews press conference (coded as Landline and Gardening Australia on main channel and Close of Business on the news channel) did very well.

10Shake was always going to have a tough start. I doubt its ever going to pull in massive shares like Bold. But if it can get up to around 1% it would be good for 10. I think it will probably get more eyeballs over the summer.

Seven News only managed to win the Brisbane and Perth markets.

i think the excessive promotion did it no favours. It was plugged in virtually every ad break for days. People get turned off by being hammered with relentless promotion.

It also had very strong competition

Wow, that’s a good win. Certainly becoming a lot more competitive it seems.

I’m sorry but it’s ridiculous that Nine are claiming that The Block was two separate programs last night even though only one episode actually aired.

Just because a network decides to split a single airing into two or more separate entries doesn’t mean they should be able to claim each is a separate program.

Is 45 000 nationally really a big win?

I think when he said “big win” he was more referring to the wins in Melbourne and Adelaide. You also need to note that Nine won 3/5 markets for news.

Nine News Adelaide won Saturday too

To be fair though, that strategy seems to have worked nicely for Seven over the years, the Aus Open (which was even worse) comes to mind

Alicia is often 100k ahead in Melbourne on weekends. I can’t recall the last time it was the opposite.

It is done in the same way The Masked Singer was by 10. It is ridiculous but its their way of selling their product.

100k is a pretty unusual gap. The average winning margin for this year is 38,000 on Sundays in Melbourne. 3 weeks ago the margin was less than 3,000.

Since Nine News Adelaide won Saturday and Sunday, I think it’s time to shift Hot Seat back at 5pm on weekdays. The 2 hour news Mon-Fri is definitely killing off their brand during the week.

Sundays can often be a chance for Seven to score at least one win during the week, if AFL.

A 7000 gap is still fairly close but it’s nice to see some competition happening in Adelaide.
