Sunday delivered one of the biggest reach audiences of the year, topping 13 million.

Travel Guides was the top entertainment show of the night lifting 115k from the season opener of the previous week. The Farmer Wants a Wife Reunion was next best, also over 1 million for the season’s final instalment.

The launch of Seven’s new reality show Dream Home featuring Dr Chris Brown got off to a promising start with 950k nationally. The show had the highest reality reach audience of the night suggesting a lot of sampling.

Meanwhile MasterChef was unchanged form recent Sunday numbers while Call the Midwife on ABC had its best result for three weeks.

Later 60 Minutes had its best audience in seven weeks with 624k and Tulsa King began its FTA run on 10 in the top 30 with 223k.

The 6pm news contest was very close with both bulletins over 1.3 million for the first time, Seven with a 50k lead only. That followed afternoon AFL with almost 500k.

Insiders was the top morning show with 500k while Weekend Sunrise was on a five-week low but still 55k ahead of Weekend Today.

The debut of Dream Home was not only beaten by Travel Guides, but also outrated by Farmer Wants a Wife reunion which followed. Dream Home may fare better tonight when it comes up against The Summit.

The show started around 8:45pm & finished around 10pm. Is that the highest rated post 8:30pm show so far this year

Good strategic planning by 7, i thought having farmer at 8:40pm after a new show which could flop might lead to lower ratings but it still got 1mill+

Good strategy by Nine to run Travel Guides up against Dream Homes premiere; tonight will be a test to see how many will come back for the second episode.

I can see a drop, maybe above the summit but below MasterChef? Saw many people on socials saying the show was boring and maybe not what they expected etc

Yes. I think we should be looking at Averages for ratings comparisons rather than Reach. I think Reach is a dodgy figure.

Dream home WAS beaten by both Travel Guides & Farmer. That’s what they said, they are talking about averages

Cheers. I misread what he said.

That’s a much better result than I expected for Dream Home, although I did expect Guides to still have an upset win and Seven might be a bit disappointed about that, as well as its lead-out also rating higher.

But it surely lead to an easy win for Sunday and if Dream Home can hold an audience (doubt it’ll stay at 900k nationally) and more importantly beat Summit, let alone MC, maybe they’ll be pleased.

Problems with data delivery today. Just added the network shares.

Seven’s best Sunday - 3 shows over or near 1 million. Nine maintained its share while the other 3 dropped to varying degrees - SBS by 2. Nine won 25-54, Seven won 16-39. Nine won Sydney and came very close in Melbourne. Seven won elsewhere.

100% they basically averaged over 1mill from 6pm to 10pm.

Interesting, one or more Seven programs must’ve outperformed Nine’s in Melbourne? Despite news lead-in being bad, with a blow-out AFL game also involving smaller clubs.

Solid numbers for The Dream Home Launch. I wasn’t expecting much. But it will be interesting to see how it goes tonight - away from Travel Guides and against The Summit.

Good to see people tuning into the French Open on 9Gem for a minute or two (reach numbers). Sure, the average isn’t huge, but for a multi-channel, its okay enough.

Great for free to air television last night. People are still coming back to the old platform.

But they’re not really staying though.

I genuinely wish it were true, but I find it extremely hard to believe that half of Australia put on FTA last night

Half of Australia tuned into FTA for a minute. That’s what the “reach” is for.

Any news numbers @TV.Cynic?
