Nine was again dominant on Sunday, winning across all markets with +30% shares. Seven gained some ground from the previous week while ABC and 10 edged lower though 10 ranked second in key demos.

House Rules was up slightly from the previous week while Lego Masters and MasterChef lost viewers.

However lead out programs dropped for Nine (60 Minutes) and 10 (FBI) while Seven’s news special did better than the previous week’s movie.

ABC’s line up all rated lower than the previous Sunday with Mystery Road losing 80,000.

Seven’s news special was the major reason its shares went up from last Sunday.

It was not often that Seven News and Nine News both got 400,000 viewers in Melbourne, any night of the week.

SBS also edged up.

Really good figures for the Gogglebox encore on peach. I wonder if 10 will also encore shows like How to Stay Married and HYBPA next week.

Really good figures for Lego Masters as well.

I think viewers are getting Corona virus fatigue so 60 Minutes will start to suffer if that’s all they can do.

That Lego result is massive, MC still towards 1m metro and even HR held above 600k. MC came 3rd in Perth, Nine’s reality a big success story in their usually worst performing market.

Some massive numbers in Melbourne, Nine News, Seven News and MC all over 400k (the latter tied with Lego!)

Mystery Road doing alright, wish it were higher, but they don’t have the lead-ins like the others.

7flix’s new early evening line-up of Futurama and The Simpsons looks to have bombed? While 7mate did well in key demos and total people with Suicide Squad repeat.

I am not really surprised but I am surprised at the lack of figures in Adelaide for House Rules. Even the news in Adelaide isn’t as dominate as it once was. Last year it had double the audience of nine news this year its much closer. Axing local content in Adelaide is starting to backfire.

I think the question is “i wonder how many times” really.

Another US drama DOA

FBI most Wanted under 291,000 at 9.10pm on 10

Hardly anything rates post 9 pm these days in Australia unless its Gogglebox or some form of the news so I am not surprised. Killing Eve which I love is also doing poorly for the ABC.

Last night Masterchef dragged on for so long it felt like it will never finish. FBI never stood a chance at rating well.

Killing Eve is different, as each episode is available on iView on Mondays, six days before the TV broadcast.

That was the case in past years too and the show still rated much better when it was on a Friday night. For season 1 the whole season was available on iview before it started screening on TV.

That isn’t too bad for 10.

The networks have really killed post 9/930

5 years of overruns, swaps, bumps and inconsistent start times. They’ve told the audiences not to care past 9pm. People now go to catch up or streamers

It is getting close to 200,000 VPM plays on iview though which i’d consider as fairly significant.

Good to hear.

The odd drama or telemovie or mini-series still does too (e.g.) Informer 3838

The Sunday episodes appear to be the longest but there is only one challenge. That’s why it’s so dragged out. Last year on Sunday they had Mystery Box and Invention Test to make up the 100 min episodes.

…or to bed, because (in normal times of course) people do have to get up early because of the lengthy commutes we have in this country.
