I think they should renew. It has potential.

#22

Like Game of Games has potential? And Orange is the New Brown? And like how Family Food Fight had potential last year? And every show in pilot week? The numbers don’t lie. It premiered to a bigger audience against bigger competition. They never stuck around and didn’t come back when the competition disappeared. That says it all in my opinion and shows a complete lack of potential as far as I am concerned.

#23

Disagree. Some shows need time and improve with time.
Have you been paying attention is the prime example of that Season 1 rated between 200-400k, Season 2 had a number of episodes well below 200k and it wasn’t until Season 4 when it hit its stride.
Married at first sight, house rules, bachelor are all shows that have increased over seasons.

#24

700k is quite different to below 500k isn’t it? All those shows you discussed were below that 500k mark. 700k is good. Survivor was renewed off similar figures and considered a success. Often shows in their first season struggle and then pick up in future seasons. Seven should keep it. You don’t know what they will replace it with which might do worse.

#25

Game of Games was Dead On Arrival. Shows like that need to be adapted to Australian audience tastes. Laugh tracks and fake over the top enthusiasm killed this show.

The problem with Orange is the New Brown is that it seems to rely too heavily on the racism angle and not enough other angles. Maybe too similar to Black Comedy and Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am where they rely too much on the single themes. If they go again, it might work but they need to employ more writers who can do something different.

Family Food Fight did have potential but Nine stuffed around with the concept and ruined it. It needed to be about families of four again but they claimed it was too hard to cast. To me it seems like they were just determined to make a version of My Kitchen Rules. They did it with The Hotplate when they got in trouble for ripping it off and they’re doing it again now with FFF.
