Really big Australian Open numbers yesterday. Expect a massive week if Barty continues to progress.
Probably mostly attributed to the increased competition from the Tennis.
When are the current Tennis and Cricket rights finish?
Tennis is going to be an absolute bidding war between all networks.
Pretty sure both rights deals are currently scheduled to end in early 2024 (ie; after the 2024 Australian Open and the 2023/24 cricket season)
Right so there is still another 3 years. It’ll be interesting see what happens, but I can definitely see bidding war between Seven and Nine for the Tennis.

If Deminaur wins today and if Barty keeps going, I’d imagine the men too if the same happens (Nadal especially), that Nine and AO would almost certainly want them in prime time here for the remainder of the tournament.
Yes Alex and Ash may prefer day, but the TV opportunity would be hard to resist, fascinating to see what unfolds.

Does anyone know what is Nine trying to do starting the De Minaur early on Go!?
The two women’s matches before him went long so he didn’t start until after 5 pm, meaning 9 could not schedule him on the main channel.

Surprised to see NFL Game 2 come in 8th place for the multi-channel list. Not sure why it rated so well.
That game was between Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers. It was a low scoring thriller and the 49ers only won the game with a 3 point field goal with seconds to go.

Yes apparently most of the NFL playoffs have been top notch.
Not to mention Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay getting their asses handed to them. The abuse he has copped for his right wing anti vax comments has been gratifying.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we see tomorrow that today’s two Divisional games rated just as well (if not better) - both had unbelievable finishes.
