#3

It sure did

#4

Nine would have secured massive daytime shares (60-70% I reckon) for the Ash Barty match.

Cricket tanks and Ten is hot on Seven’s tail in primary shares, buoyed by the success of Celebrity.

#5

These are brilliant figures for Celebrity against the tennis.
And look at those Bash numbers.!! Seven paid way over the price to get low 400s and simulcast also.
No one would have expected TEN to be so bold as to provide a clear alternative and invest in general entertainment at this time of year. Karma is a beautiful thing considering they had The Bash last year and doing significantly better .

Well done TEN

#6

Celebrity is holding up well against intense competition. Another beaming night for Nine.

BBL is now officially a dud. With simulcast coverage, too many games being exclusive to Pay TV and too many games in general, the sport is dying.

#7

Jasmin sums it up perfectly. Agree completely

#8

I think this statement is slightly dramatic.

#9

I won’t say BBL is dying but Cricket Australia should be worried about decreased crowds and combined TV ratings. With Australia hosting women’s World Twenty20 tournament in February 21-March 8 next year, CA will have to reduce the BBL to a single round robin competition so it finishes before WWT20.

#10

Not too far from the truth though. Imagine if Seven had exclusive coverage,I reckon it would probably do at least 800K plus and would allow them to put up a great fight against the AU Open instead of languishing so far behind.

Is there any possible room for renegotiation of deals if the numbers continue to drop? Surely Cricket Australia would not want to see the numbers for Australia’s Number 1 sport drop anymore?

If I was Cricket Australia I would order a renegotiation right now and tell Fox to F…off and give everything to FTA. Seven with the Internationals/Ashes and 10 with BBL.

#11

59 games in one season is Way too long. In February, many students return to school and also the start of a ratings year.

#12

They can tweak the number of games next year and attempt to address the issues can’t they? Or contractually are they obliged to play X number of matches so Seven and Foxtel’s coverage contracts are honoured?

#13

I still think pitting NCIS against each other on 2 channels for 45/50 mins is causing 10 more share. Look at Bolds drop from the rest of the week.

#14

Outside the top 20 were The Project 6.30 at 21st, NCIS Rpt 22nd and SBS’s latest slow TV episode All Aboard! Canal Trip that ranked 29th.

Tennis did best in Melbourne as expected just short of 50% market network share. Seven continued its dominance in Perth where it won by 8% over Nine. Ten’s main channel beat Seven’s in Sydney in total people and nationally in the demos.

I’m A Celebrity continued it good run and was even able to beat the tennis in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in the demos. Ten has been getting some good shares in Brisbane, a market where it usually struggles.

It was Medics On Call and the movie IT that caused the low share. 10:30pm programming had little effect.

#15

Even when the Sydney Sixers were playing in a BBL match?

Absolutely disgraceful for Seven to be beaten by 10.

#16

Seven’s hopes are pinned now on My Kitchen Rules holding or improving on the results it achieved last season. If it sinks further, Nine will win 2019. At this stage it looks like Ten and Nine are on track to build on their performance last year at Seven’s expense. What goes up must come down they say.

#17

Doubt it. Only One Day Cricket had really big numbers on the same day last year. Big Bash on other days was always much lower when it went up against the Aus Open.

Ten have been smart to offer an alternative this year and it’s really worked well for them.

#18

You do have a bee in your bonnet about Seven. I’m not surprised that the cricket is rating poorly in Sydney. Have you seen their coverage? It’s woeful. About time they realised they’re calling the cricket & not the AFL.

#19

I’m sure its not JUST NCIS’ fault but I bet that ep on Bold wasn’t able to pull the 140k it has been. I know there is Tennis as late night competition, but its still ridiculous scheduling.

#20

Still the bee’s flying, gotta catch it.

I agree though, their coverage is fairly inconsistent and can go from acceptable to unwatchable.

If MKR suffers this year then Seven is as good as gone (which is probably good in a sense that it might drive them to be innovative and creative).
