Nine got Origin week off to a good start with the network’s first Sunday win in eight weeks. It was Nine’s highest Sunday share in that period thanks to wins across most timeslots. Second-placed Seven lost +3 points to its lowest Sunday result in six weeks while ABC, 10 and SBS all posted gains with SBS in double figures.

Nine News got the night off to a good start with a rare win recording the bulletin’s highest rating for any night of 2024. Seven News was close behind but down 30k from last week.

At 7pm Travel Guides Miami adventure saw the travel show hit a 2024 high and rank third for the night. Dream Home’s first reveal episode did well to top 800k, it best result since episode one that had 950k. Meanwhile MasterChef was unchanged at just over 600k while ABC’s Call the Midwife was up slightly to just make the top 10.

Later, 60 Minutes lifted to a nine-week high and was up 160k week-on-week. Seven News Spotlight’s Cost of Living Special managed 487k, one of its lowest results of the year. Tulsa King on 10 was down slightly to just over 200k. Nine’s Missing Millionairess also did well with 508k.

Earlier, NRL Afternoon was up 80k to its highest rating since the opening Las Vegas round.

Nine had a small win last night thanks mainly to Travel Guides and 60 Minutes. I guess the topic of 60 Minutes (a murder of three children in rural Victoria a decade ago) attracted extra viewers especially in Melbourne.

It was affected by no AFL lead-in in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Travel Guides has really been such a success story for 9, I am fairly sure it’s produced in house also.

What was Spotlight’s direct competitor, I think it started around 8:50 while 60 minutes started around 8:10.

Delayed telecast of Freo /Melbourne,
finished at 5pm in Perth!

There was no live AFL in Melbourne yesterday, so the 102,000 figure must be for Melbourne Weekender.

Travel Guides numbers are huge. It’s really excelled in the 7pm timeslot. Not much else brings in that big an audience other than MAFS.

I think there would be a few contenders:

1% Club, HYBPA, Voice, DWTS, even 1% UK

How are these contenders? On overnights alone, tell me the last time that any of these shows were rating even close to 1.2 million week after week?

Travel Guides overnight numbers are a good 400k above what shows like 1% club or HYBPA did last week.

Id actually say its more on par with Farmer wants a wife. MAFS is leagues ahead in ratings, but i know what you mean for Nine, after MAFS this has been its second biggest Sunday player

Kimda surprised it has taken Nine this long to reinvent the wheel. Two decades ago shows like Location Location and Backyard Blitz were top-raters on Sunday nights.
