Nine was able to continue its Sunday winning streak extending it to 13 weeks. The Brownlow gave Seven it best Sunday since July up more than 4 points from the previous week. 10 was the big loser, slipping 3 with SBS also down.

Nine had big wins in Sydney and Brisbane and also narrowly won in Adelaide. Seven had its best result in Melbourne with a big win and was also ahead in Perth. Nine won 25-54 with Seven ahead in 16-39.

The Brownlow audience compared to 859,000 the previous year. The Brisbane audience was just 38,000.

Bathurst race preliminary number compares to 818,000 last year. While 10 also had rugby drawing almost 200k on 10 Bold.

Junior MasterChef slipped slightly from the previous week’s premiere with The Block the dominate entertainment show of the night to a season high 1,009,000 for the main part of the program.

ABC News coverage of the Dan Andrews news conference on the easing of COVID restrictions drew big numbers again.

Nine News Queensland managed to win over Seven, with ABC News QLD just over 80,000.
ABC News SA, only managing nearly 70,000 did worse than Nine News at 85,000.

A boilover as Nine held on to win the night in network shares despite Seven having the Brownlow and the FTA premiere of Aquaman, with 7TWO again the culprit.
The Brownlow was still the most-watched program in Melbourne even though it was lower than last year.

Hmmm… how did Seven win when Nine News and The Block came first in their slots?

Nine’s multi-channels (converse to the usual) helped win the night, with Seven’s main channel winning.

Wonder if Seven should’ve tried SAS launch last night and kept Brownlow tonight?

I’m guessing Seven’s main channel share would’ve been higher, had they not scheduled such rubbish as “worlds worst airports” or whatever in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth at 7pm? 7Two continues to be a problem on Sundays for some reason.

Not surprised at that Bathurst number, especially when it looked every bit a Foxtel carbon copy, there was next to no buzz this year.

Probably because they won the slot from 8:30-12am.

The Fox Sports telecast also suffered a substantial drop from last year’s race which had a national audience of 469,000.

Channel 9 surprisingly won over 7 thanks To The Block. Last nights Brownlow medal was much lower than last year’s event. It was a one sided medal night.
Bathurst 1000 was much lower than last year’s race on 10 due to rise in Fox Sports and Kayo streaming. Still it rated well during the morning and afternoon.

Ah, the Brownlow medal. All the fun and excitement of a televised audit.

The first time Seven have a statement that they are proud of…

Was there a specific reason for the Brownlow Medal airing last night?

It was the lowest rating I think since a Network Ten telecast 10 years ago.

Last year, Seven won the night by over 10%, with Nine coming third behind 10 (it was TMS’ massive lauch) and The Block on barely 800k and 200k in five city and Melbourne respectively.

In 2018, is was also a victory for Seven of over 10%, but that time The Block beat the Brownlow like last night, but the latter rated higher and in all markets.

Both years, Seven’s multi-channels were also higher and Seven’s alternative programming in NRL markets rated better.

Not really.

They had a few when Big Brother and Farmer wants a Wife was on air. Big Brother got some mentions regarding demos and growth in the online space.

As for the Brownlow, it didn’t rate too well compared to recent years but it still did alright for the AFL markets. Though the alternative programming for the NRL states was so bad that they could’ve won if they had something decent in those markets instead of that dodgy factual.

How about timeslow growth :joy::joy:

Accurate too, considering their growth takes time and is too slow :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
