Big Brother didn’t quite bring the ratings success on Sunday night that Seven might have been expecting given the previous week’s numbers. Nine scored an easy win in total people and won all markets except Perth that was won by Seven. Nine was also number one in 25-54 while 10 won 16-39.

Compared to recent Sunday shares, there was’t a lot of change.

Compared to the previous Sunday (that was part of a long weekend) MasterChef was up a massive 145,000 while The Voice also improved 50,000. Big Brother, however posted its lowest result so far. MasterChef topped all key demo groups. The Voice was second in 25-54, while Big Brother was second in 16-39.

60 Minutes delivered its highest (preliminary) result since week 15. FBI Most Wanted posted its best result ever while Seven’s Marvel movie failed to attract an audience.

Wow that’s a massive drop for BB.

As long as BB continues to do well in the demos, Seven will likely be happy. They desperately drive down the average age of their viewer.

Wasn’t expecting The Voice to out rate BB.
I feel like more people are consuming BB with catch-up services.

The lure of the cheating scandal promo on The Voice and the expose of Labor branch stacking on 60 Minutes helped Nine to a big win last night.
MasterChef outrated The Voice in total viewers. The cooking show’s big win in Melbourne compensated for its loss in the other four cities.
The ratings failure of Seven’s movie suggests viewers want first-run shows on Sundays, not repeats.

That isn’t good for Big Brother with the AFL promotion over the weekend I would have expected it to beat The Voice. Masterchef became the number 1 show on Sundays for the first time since The Voice started. FBI, although so bad, has been a slight success for 10 on Sundays and has been consistent all season.

big brother party over. that is a very average overnight.

Neither was I. I watched the first few weeks of The Voice and have gotten sick of all the constant bickering and forced drama. How it’s still rating so well is baffling, although the demos weren’t great.

25-54 demos: Masterchef 471k, BB Eviction 378k, Voice 354k, BB (main) 351k
18-49 demos: Masterchef 451k, BB Eviction, 360k, BB (main) 334k, Voice 282k
16-39 demos: Masterchef 300k, BB Eviction 227k, BB (main) 208k, Voice 151k

Here’s a pretty damning statistic that @Colvick posted on Twitter yesterday:
‘Something like 42% of The Voice audience is 55-plus’

Total viewership is still pretty high but key demos (which are much more important to networks and advertisers) aren’t great. BB is rating similarly to The Voice in the demos and I don’t think The Voice will be rating well after the blinds finish

Big drop for Bog Brother.

Glad MasterChef beat The voice, even if it was by a small amount.

More importantly was Masterchef clean swept the demos.

Seven promises ad buyers 640,000 for BB. It’s still above that so they should be alert but still feel relatively happy.

Absolutely! In all the key demos Masterchef leads the way by more than 100k viewers (if you average out the BB eviction and main sections).

Exactly as I predicted Big Brother below 700k when it’s up against full competition. Neither The Voice or MasterChef seem to have been impacted at all by Big Brother, maybe by 50k max. Sure Big Brother does well in demos but it is still well behind MasterChef. You would think that Big Brother has a massive advantage with the massive 7 News lead in and big promo opportunity over the weekend with the AFL but none of this has helped it at all.

Also Seven need to stop coding the eviction when it is in every single episode. There was only a 15k difference between the main episode and eviction.

Didn’t Ch9 hype up some sort of drama involving Guy breaking one of the rules? Turns out it wasn’t on last night after all and is apparently showing tonight.

The ‘buffering’, or whatever you’d call it on BB last night wouldn’t help. It was very annoying and I changed the channel more than once when it happened.

And what was the story with the volume on 60 Minutes last night? I usually have my volume set around 15, yet last night I had it at 40 and even then it wasn’t loud.

I think that’s one of the reasons why The Voice rated so well last night. It was pretty much a filler episode with many no-chair turns, however they kept teasing that the cheating scandal was happening so we were waiting for that. I saw on Twitter that people were angry that the ‘drama’ in the promo is happening tonight when it had been teased all week that it would air on Sunday

Outside the top 20, Seven’s movie was 21st while Muirel’s Wedding on ABC was 28th. The Footy Show did fairly well for Nine coming in at 26th just ahead of Offsiders on ABC.

Last night’s episode was the number one live streamed show with a 29.9k VPM

Especially last night where there were numerous playout issues with the show freezing multiple times and then going back 5 minutes. I almost gave up.

I find it quite annoying that Nine posts these kinds of figures - Masterchef and The Voice were both down last Sunday because it was a public holiday. Public holidays are always lower-rating, so posting an increase from last week’s ep isn’t much of a big deal
