With two grand finals it was a big night of TV viewing. Seven won the night with a network share just above one third of the audience. Seven and Nine were even with the previous week while 10 improved +1 point. SBS was also up but ABC was down 1.

Nine won NRL states, Seven won AFL. Nine won all key demos.

The Voice final topped the night with the Winner’s Announcement 1.38 million. That compares to the final on Nine in 2020 that had 907,000. You have to go back to 2017 to see similar numbers when the finale had 1.3 million and the winner’s announcement 1.32 million.

Nine’s The Block continued to do well second in the timeslot.

Over on 10, the Australian Survivor final managed over 900k for the winner’s announcement with the bulk of the program averaging 785,000. That compares to 984,000 and 876,000 for the 2020 season final. The Survivor Winner’s Announcement topped all three key demo groups.

Later, Homicide with Ron Iddles beat 60 Minutes while The Newsreader slipped to a season low below 400k.
Nine News beat Seven News helped by a good NRL afternoon result giving Nine News in Sydney a big boost - second highest result of the year.

I think all three networks would be happy with the results of their programmes last night.
Big ratings in Sydney and Melbourne for Nine News.

Good result for The Voice Final. All networks should be happy with thwir reality shows.

What is Landline Weather that cracked the top 20? What time / how long did that air for?

Two big finales last night — The voice and the Australian survivor.
The voice helped channel 7 win the night, while The Australian survivor helped 10 top the demos.
A close rugby match between wallabies and South Africa was the number 1 show on the multi Channels.

Impressive figures for the finales of The Voice and Survivor. I do wonder if Survivor’s figures would have been higher had it been shown last Tuesday?

Nine News belted Seven News in Sydney thanks to the late finish to the NRL elimination final.

Not a good start for SBS documentary on Sydney’s Central Station.

In regards to the rugby union figures on 9Gem, the first (263,000) was for the match itself, the second (231,000) was for the post-match and the seventh (149,000) was the pre-match.

I reckon Survivor would’ve been higher on Tuesday, but the network would’ve been trounced if they aired the 9/11 special last night instead.
So Ten made the right move to stay competitive and the demos show that…However I think Seven and Ten should’ve stuck to original schedules and not give The Block so much breathing space as now it’s found a bigger audience.
Now the new competition starts tonight will The Block hold strong again?

To their credit, Seven have done a brilliant job breathing new life into The Voice. While there’s probably room to tinker with it a bit and perhaps add a few more eps next season, the short, sharp format following the Blind Auditions managed to maintain viewers in a way Nine’s dragged out seasons didn’t.

Its weather segment done by the Bureau of Meteorology and airs separately after Landline. As such, that’s probably why it’s coded as a separate program

Seven Melbourne need a better lead in to the news on Sundays. Would viewers rather watch Nine’s offering of Postcards, or another Border Security repeat on Seven??

They probably should consider putting Mitch, Tim and Jane back on Sunday nights too.

Is The Voice the only entertainment show to receive at least 1 million viewers for every episode this year? Have to say kudos to Seven for bringing some life back to the show. Yes it’s not perfect but there are certainly parts that were better than last year.

Noting that Survivor won its whole timeslot in the key demos (rather than being boosted at the end after The Voice and Block had finished).

Big finish for The Voice finale.

I think that’s correct, Married at First Sight had 12 episodes below 1 million viewers early in its season this year.

Good to see MAFS dethroned as highest rating show.

Voice should have at least another 5 years on 7 I reckon before it starts to taper off again.

The Newsreader again a Sunday stand out with 60% lift in total TV audience.

So the Survivor winner announcement was obviously not long enough to register on Total TV but the Voice was. So if this is the long term new way to show viewing figures, it would seem better to make that peak winners announcement part of the main show (considering it is the same show anyway) to bump up its overall average.

Because of the separation Survivor only got 785k overnight but might’ve pushed 800k if they didn’t separate it. And it’s Total combined would’ve been better too.
