Nine won its ninth straight Sunday night prime time, despite the absence of its relationship reality juggernaut and up against a much promoted episode of House Rules on Seven. Nine scored over 30% share in all markets except Perth where Seven narrowly won the night. Nine’s victory was reinforced by a strong performance to win all key demographic groups. ABC placed third ahead of a poorly performing 10, though 10 easily beat the public broadcaster in the demographics.

60 Minutes and a James Bond movie won the night for Nine. Seven News topped the night but House Rules with 630,000 lost almost half that audience. That result was on par with episodes across the previous week and compares to 685,000 posted for the equivalent episode of the 2019 season. The Latest was again coded in two parts showing a significant loss of viewers across its hour.

The Virus special on ABC (which aired after the 7pm bulletin) had more viewers than House Rules.

What a shocker for Seven, little competition apart from 60 Minutes which is a ratings juggernaut again, but they had the No. 1 news at 1.24m. Still, HR is doing better than MKR and appeared in the key demos, wonder if it will grow to a bigger audience like seasons gone by in coming weeks? MC as further competition from tonight and then Nine’s next big show next week.

9Rush just 0.3% off 7flix (a 4+ year old channel) last night.

That’s a good result for Quantum of Solace (one of the weakest Bonds and on Easter), though I wonder if there was a 60 Minutes over-run. But it shows a main channel movie can still pull a decent audience over a long run time helping shares @turdall. One of the highest if not highest for the year?

Nine won the night that thanks to James Bond, and an 8 with an 8pm start. House Rules on Seven did alright. Still don’t understand The Latest split coding. Just shows how much of a drop there is across the hour - no matter what time it airs.

Ten should move Jamie Oliver to a daytime slot, where other “how to cook” shows are… Did 10 News code their news into 2 last night, just like the weeknights?

ABC’s Melbourne Comedy Festival beat Ten’s Montreal Comedy Festival. Good to see people are watching daytime telly on Sundays - with 322k watching Landline at 12.30pm

10 News at 6pm ranked 25th.

Worth nothing that despite Jamie Oliver’s low total people numbers it ranked in the top 5 in at least one demo.

It’s a good figure for that movie. Probably the first real good figure for a movie all year. I still think movies should be placed on multis with the exception of public holidays and non ratings. I doubt it would have had that figure on a normal ratings day

It’s times like this when Seven needs a program that is a heritage brand. 60 Minutes just demolishes whatever is on the opposition even though its timeslot is messed about. If Seven had an international format that is well known then 60 wouldn’t be so lucky, instead they have House Rules which is barely rating better than MKR.

Time for Seven to find a new international format to get the eyeballs instead of relying on ‘Seven Studios’ to produce their shows.

Same old story every week. Seven tried that with Hell’s Kitchen and All Together Now but they didn’t work.

What’s your problem with that?

You make the same suggestion over and over again. We heard you the first 50 million times.

You have newer suggestions rather than just telling people off on a discussion forum?

I’m not telling you off. I’m pointing out the fact that you have made that suggestion many, many times and you have also been advised many times that picking up an international format doesn’t guarantee ratings success.

I thought all together now did quite well. And I think it could have gained traction in its second season. 7 don’t give their new ideas a proper go.

6pm news battle between 7 and 9 has returned to normal with 7Brisbane maintaining a higher lead over 9. What’s changed quite a bit now is 9 winning the 5pm battle against 7 compared to yesterday. It seems only Sydney and Perth tuned into 7 @ 5pm, whereas Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide have turned to 9. And this is surprising considering that Adelaide was thought to be a Ch7 dominated market. Sydney seems to slowly be turning to 7 in more programs except 6pm news. Brisbane still remains undecided. No changes to Melb and Perth anywhere.

:joy: :+1:

As for Hell’s Kitchen, a celebrity version was always going to flop. On the other hand, a ‘regular’ version might have done okayish

Yep. They should have brought it back.
