And everyone loses - the networks can go on about targeting specific demographics or outcomes, but the reality is that the number of people watching FTA across the board is dropping and with the number of alternate options for home entertainment out there, there is a risk they may not come back

The networks are their own worst enemy when it comes to this stuff

#22

9 News QLD got absolutely smashed last night by 7 News. I don’t recall a margin that big in a long time.

#23

We’re mourning. Allow us to grieve. It isn’t as easy to “get over it” as people think!

#24

I think it’s got to do with the lead-up to summer ratings. Some people liked to do streaming.
Game of Games has dived to new lows with just 229k watching the show. I feel that this show has too much screaming, not just from host Grant Denyer but many of the contestants.

#25

Highly unlikely it will be back for a second season but they have nothing else they can air there do they?

#26

I wasn’t watching it but it was on in the background (as I watch The Project) while I was cleaning up dinner and totally agree, the show is so freaking loud, I had to go turn the TV off just to get some peace and quiet.

#27

I remember deal or no deal when it began didn’t really set the world on fire - until they gave it a revamp.

Game of Games (for me) falls into this bucket. It needs to lose the ‘feels like america’ over the top behavior, change its time slot and reduce the viewing time as many have mentioned on here.

I like the format - the execution needs an overhaul. The most cringe is Grant dancing, just like Ellen. Are hosts contracted to have to do that lol.

#28

They’re bringing back Pointless, they’ve stuck with an underperforming show at 7pm for a decade. It’s Ten. It’s like a sheltered workshop.

#29

Who presented that bulletin out of interest?

And on the flip side we have Nine News Melbourne highest performer across the nation for the night across all time slots.

9 News Brisbane are more competitive during the week, similar situation in Melbourne with Seven News either miles behind or right behind. But 7 Melbourne usually is 50-100k behind Alicia on weekends.

But on weekends Alicia is essentially the most watched news bulletin across the nation and has been for a number of years now. Seven fronted up Mitch on Sunday’s but yet to make any impact.

#30

Jonathan Uptin was on Nine as per usual while Seven had Katrina Blowers.

#31

That is exactly what’s happening. Most people don’t come back to live broadcast unless for Winner Announced of some reality series. FTA are shooting themselves in the head.
