Nine and Seven both recorded their highest Sunday network shares of the survey while 10 and ABC fell to 2021 survey lows.

All eyes were on the launch of Dancing WTS. The 744,000 rating ranked fifth for the night and make the top 5 in key demos as well. It compares with 10’s season premiers that had 615k and 585k. The last season on Seven premiered to 778,000 in July 2015.

Nine’s line-up saw a season highs for both MAFS and 60 Minutes.

DWTS got the ratings I was expecting. Better than Ultimate Tag but didn’t put a dent in MAFS. Graham Norton smashed. Not even making the top 20.

DWTS had a decent launch but still not that great in the demos and didn’t do any damage to MAFS. It is a big turnaround for Seven in that slot though if it can sustain those numbers.

A solid start for DWTS: All Stars on Seven. Believe it or not, DWTS even outrated MAFS in Perth.
Seven News was Number 1 Program in Melbourne (thanks to Dees-Cats game) and Perth (thanks to Freo’s win over the Hawks).

The premiere of DWTS All Stars did well and lifted Seven’s share. If it can average around 700,000 tonight and Tuesday, then Seven may have a small chance of winning this week.

The AFL lead-in helped Seven News to win in Melbourne, but not in Adelaide.

10 was absolutely smashed last night. MasterChef can’t come fast enough.

Why 10 thinks flip flopping Graham Norton to Sunday nights to fill vacant timeslots is beyond me, it simply doesn’t rate and does further damage to the once popular show.

You know you’re desperate for entertainment when an episode of The Big Bang Theory makes it into the Top 10 overall in Newcastle for WIN Peach.

To be fair to TEN, they really have absolutely nothing in their cupboard. It would take a very brave executive at TEN to launch Masterchef this week.

Well done to Seven for quickly putting together DWTS for two weeks at late notice. 10 need to learn a thing or two about programming 52 weeks all year round.

For better or worse, DWTS just isn’t a demo-friendly show (as 10’s attempt to try and do so demonstrated). As to your latter point, that not surprising considering MAFS is so far into its season that viewers are too invested in it not to see how it ends

From Nine:

MAFS PEAKS WHILE 60 MINUTES SOARS TO 2021 RATINGS HIGH

9Network was the winning network across the 5 City with People 25-54 , People 16-39, GS + Child and Total People .

Channel 9 was the primary channel of choice across the 5 City with People 25-54 , People 16-39 , GS + Child and Total People .

Married at First Sight was Australia’s No.1 metro program of the night with People 25-54, People 16-39, GS + Child and with Total People.

Married at First Sight was the No.1 program of the night across the 5 City Metro as well as in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide and won its time slot in Melbourne.

This Sunday’s episode of Married at First Sight is the highest rating Sunday episode of the series.

60 Minutes was No.2 program of the night across the 5 City Metro with People 25-54 and GS + Child and was the No.3 program with People 16 – 39.

60 Minutes won its evening time slot across the 5 City Metro and in all metro capitals.

This Sunday’s episode was the highest rating episode of 60 Minutes of 2021.

9News Sunday was the No.3 program of the night across the 5 City Metro and the No.2 program of the night in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.

10 needed DWTS to attract more older viewers. It worked to some degree.

Surprised to see the DWTS reboot on Seven rate better than every episode that’s been on 10.

Seven would be glad that it did alright though. 10 was crushed last night. Guess they’re just on a holding pattern waiting for Masterchef now.

Not sure if Seven is programming for 52 weeks a year considering what they dished up the last two weeks.

Seven must be pleased with those numbers

Would they be pleased with the demos though? I guess they were trying to find that alternate audience to MAFS by accepting that they couldn’t really compete in the younger demos. So tapping into the shows previous older skewing audience was the goal (evident by the judge and host choices). It at least increased eyeballs on Seven last night but it will be interesting to see if it holds up or sheds some viewers as it goes on. Especially given the last few episodes of MAFS are likely to rate through the roof.

Only by a slim margin and even then, MAFS was still preferred by Perth viewers in the key demographics.

In Sydney, the non-binding commitment ceremony melodramas on Nine absolutely smashed Seven’s ballroom dancing show with a whopping 175k gap! :open_mouth:

As for Ten, what can I say? Rubbish ratings all round from them, only made respectable in overall network figures by Bold & Peach.

I’m not surprised. Most of the oldies who love shows like DWTS are probably considerably more likely to tune their TV sets to Seven than Ten for anything.

Except there was not a commitment ceremony last night. It was a dinner party.

Married at First Sight was the runaway winner last night. DWTS did alright. Better than Ultimate Tag. Will see how it goes for the rest of the week. Poor Ten, with Graham Norton sinking.

@TV.Cynic I wonder how the W-League Grand Final rated. It was scheduled to finish at 6pm, but the match ran into extra-time, thus the match went into primetime (up to 6.45pm). Repeats of Anh’s Brush and Compass ran between 6 and 7pm, but in reality was the Final.

My guess is that it will most likely retain most of its audience despite MAFS. 10 hasn’t got anything compelling to offer over the next two days so they’re not a threat.

I reckon that’s what Seven will be hoping for anyway.
