the guide in TV Week said that Operation Live was to be on for 2 hours (9pm - 11pm), but it aired until 10.15pm. Not sure why Seven coded the show into two segments though…

A terrible night for SBS. A 2.7% is not so good. Bring back more train-related shows. lol.

#22

Think around 9:45pm - the operation didn’t take long

#23

Those Project 6:30pm figures are below the poverty line. It just doesn’t work at 6:30pm!

God knows what 6pm on Ten rated based on that awful Project figure. Under 100k a real possibility.

#24

Project defenders will no doubt be upset with that remark but I agree, the Sunday Project ratings have been and remain underwhelming and problematic given the boost Lisa Wilkinson was expected to deliver. In saying that, I recall at the upfronts Ten said they would be investing heavily in a marketing push to get the Project’s ratings up. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later and is engaging enough to influence more people to watch. Nine and Seven having their reality flagships kick off at 7 opposite the Project is hurting Ten and constraining potential ratings highs for the 7.30 shows.

#25

End of March.

Re 6:30 Project I don’t really know what you can expect when you have a program before it getting 180k. Not exactly the best lead in.

#26

There’s a huge audience for the Project on other platforms, particular social media. So people are interested, the challenge for the show and network is to get them to watch live. I suspect a mix of marketing and compelling content that would make you want to watch live (big interviews) could help convert the social audience or other dip in, dip out viewers to more regular watchers on a Sunday.

#27

Its about to film in Melbourne on Sundays for a bit so somethings changing…

#28

Perhaps The Project is like The Feed in that how most people have/will engage in the show is via social media instead of sitting down and watching it live?

#29

What, The Sunday Project is?

It’s been like that for a while, since HYBPA? has been off air pretty much as the studio is available for them on Sundays now. Not sure what could be changing…

#30

Possibly but SBS don’t need to sell advertising to exist, Ten do. And they need to make money from the audience watching. Facebook and Twitter make it hard to do that as effectively as the advertiser paying the tv network directly for space.

#31

They do actually. They can’t survive just on Federal Government funding, following the cuts they’ve had.

#32

What does the charter say? Get advertising or we’ll shut you down?
