The only thing Hibbins would’ve cared about his wife is if she found out another woman was dating her husband. If he really cared then he wouldn’t go into a relationship whilst he was married.
We all gave Barnaby Joyce grief for what he did in 2017 and rightfully so. Hibbins hasn’t gone that far yet (e.g. given his mistress a position in his office or something) and it’s honourable that he’s stood down and resigned (unlike Barnaby) but I think it’s right to call it out in the same way we called out Barnaby (as much as I despite that bloke).
It’s in one of the Greenest part of Melbourne that is south of the Yarra. Labor’s not really that popular anymore so they won’t have a big chance whereas the Liberals are toxic all round in this part of the world. I’d say a narrower Greens retain depending on who they nominate.
Yeah I don’t have the same views as you do on cheating. I believe you can still care for someone’s safety and have cheated on the person. I also thought the same about Joyce (who may I say didn’t get kicked from the party). As long as it is legally consensual I just don’t have the same views as you do.
Yeah I do agree with you on that. It goes against party rules. I still don’t think people should make it personal and say he doesn’t care about his family.
I rarely say any good things about the Coalition but I must say that I kind of respected Peter Walsh as the leader of the Nationals. Yes he toed the same lines as the Liberals but at least he and his party haven’t been idiots about it in the same way Pesutto and his cronies have been. The Victorian Nationals also seem a bit more moderate than their NSW/QLD/Federal counterparts anyway which helps.
Surprised no one’s mentioned this. You’d think that without McGowan Labor would crash back to earth given the Liberals generally do well in the state but having had a look at recent polling, Labor is set for another (albeit smaller) landslide for next year’s election against the Liberals/Nationals, short of Roger Cook telling women to suck it on live TV. The WA Liberals are about as useful as the SA Liberals in its current state: Absolutely useless.
SA parliament has passed “world-leading” legislation banning most political donations.
The changes mean politicians, candidates and political parties can no longer accept financial donations, and caps party spending on election campaigns.
Third party groups — like unions and industry bodies — will also be limited to spending no more than $450,000 on a campaign.
To fill the financial shortfall, taxpayers will pay more for politics.
