Ok so yeah some of those rights have transferred even if they weren’t announced at the start
Quite the underdog story ![]()
Stan Sport has now taken over the YouTube channel of Optus Sport. It’s now called Stan Sport Football with the handle @stansportfc.
I think from now on, all the football highlights will be on this channel rather than the main Stan Sport channel.
Still they have’nt picked up Ligue 1
FTA premiere as well as Stan.
First time the EPL is on a commercial free-to-air network and on a main channel
Wow that is a surprise
Probably just the first match and a couple here and there?
Stan Sport will stream the remainder of the 2025 K-League season, according to its weekly news update.
Stan put ads on both front and back pages of selected News Corp papers today, promoting its first coverage of a Premier League season.

And obviously no mention of Saturday TNT* game available on Channel 9.
*For context, domestically they have only one game a week, and it’s that slot.

Coverage on Stan Sport begins from 9:00pm AEST, hosted in studio by Adam Peacock alongside Premier League & Socceroos legend Mark Bosnich and former Socceroos captain Craig Foster joined by Mark Pougatch live from Villa Park.
Also headlining the opening weekend is a must-see showdown as Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford, live from 1:20am AEST on Monday 18 August. All nine matches will be available live and on demand on Stan Sport across the opening round.
Dan Taylor, Executive Director, Stan said: "Being entrusted with the Premier League is a landmark moment in Stan’s history, and we can’t wait to take the world’s most watched football league to new heights.

any news on a 24/7 stream similar to optus sport 1? ive checked on mu iphone, my hubbl glass tv and in my browser and can’t find one
So it’s only a three week limited time for the 9:30pm game on Nine. Obviously would’ve been better if it was consistent.
A game that they don’t produce and the coverage by them would not be used by Nine anyway, so not sure of the relevance of bringing it up.
You’re right, shouldn’t have brought it up. Apologies.
There’s a week off after week 3 of the season and the week after that could potentially clash with NRL finals with two games on the Saturday.
It would be great if Stan offered at least the same level of coverage as Optus Sport.
However, judging by how the coverage start time for the majority of featured/stand-alone games is 10 minutes before they begin (and therefore skipping the world feed pre-game coverage), they’ll be providing less coverage.
We only get a couple of weeks where the timing is pretty good for the early Saturday game too
I wonder if they’ll look at more FTA coverage if the viewer numbers are decent. Even an early morning (late evening UK time) game on Gem
Have noticed this too. Have only seen the one regular PLP show, Team Talks, appear in the Live and Upcoming section, but none of the others are there.
Fair to say they’ll hear plenty from fans if that doesn’t change…
