Another full house in Canberra last night for the Stars hosting the Thunder which I guess again suggests that Manuka desperately deserves an upgrade. While there are ‘10 year plans’ afoot, maybe in an election year next year, more money should be thrown on the table.

It would have to be a coalition thing in desperation to get at the very least David Pocock’s Senate seat, no motivation for Labor to spend up big holding all other seats in both houses in Canberra in a Federal sense. Besides there’s more chance of either a new indoor arena to attract a Cannons rebirth or a long overdue new home for the Raiders and Brumbies, and they’re probably long shots at best.

If it’s anything like how they screwed up building the new docks for the new Spirit of Tasmania, this will end up costing Tasmanian taxpayers a lot.

Enjoy your new AFL team!

Fox commentators making comment about the DJ at Ninja Stadium - some strange sounds there. Mario Kart start noises, the theme from Curb Your Enthusiasm, so on.

Piece of the SCG roof coming down. The security had a hard time moving the slack jawed yokels out of the bay (this was taken after i moved).

Which SCG stand is that?

It was the Bill O’Reilly Stand.

The little wind turbines seem to be just there for decoration these days at Lincoln Financial. Pointless virtue-signaling, but congrats to the Eagles on the win anyway.

Or a pointless post.

Maybe if she and her party didn’t cock this one up so badly they’d still be in power and implement what they wanted to?

the issue was her successor was too scared of losing votes in the regions where the prevailing opinion is that all the money is being spent in the southeast corner (despite more being spent in the regions per capita) so he made a pathetic call to switch to QSAC which would have been an international embrassment.

Yep, he was absolutely gutless. And actually he should have realised they were going to lose anyway, regardless of which stadium option they chose. A very selfish and stupid man. I actually suspect they did realise they were going to lose, but were just trying to save some furniture (i.e. seats like South Brisbane).

Let’s hope she’s right for once. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day

While it’s true her plan for the Gabba rebuild was preferable to the ridiculous QSAC option, it wasn’t without it’s problems - the main one being a huge expense being incurred for a stadium that was barely any bigger.
