Did you mean before the new millennium?

Also, the last season before the AFL logo changed to what it is now, in 2000.

Yep. Before. Also the last with the 1989-1999 7 logo and the old 7 sport logo

Some rare footage from the 1987 Winfield Cup.

Brisbane replay rights for the Winfield Cup were held by BTQ-7 for just 1987 and vision of their coverage of games has been scarce.

A full replay of the 87’ Prelim Final between Canberra and Easts with Pat Welsh, Bob McCarthy and Wally Lewis commentating with Peter Meares hosting from Brisbane.

I watched a Flemishdog archive of the 1986-1987 WSC final played at the SCG tonight. I was amazed that they had access to the Bureau’s Sydney rain radar during the coverage. It was very primitive by today’s standards but it was there.

I wonder how they got the image as the Internet wasn’t widely available at that point, maybe by fax?

Their news department may have had some sort of access to this that they could easily feed to when required

Don’t recall that, though on Network Ten’s coverage of the 2008 Brownlow Medal, Stephen Quartermain said “that wraps up Network Ten’s involvement in season 2008” - doing so without mentioning the Grand Final that would air on Seven five days later (during the 2007-11 AFL broadcasting rights period that were jointly held by Seven and Ten, the FTA networks alternated televising the Brownlow/pre-season GF and the GF).

Meanwhile, over in the States, they have no visible issue with acknowledging the other host broadcasters, at least in the NFL.

There was some reminiscing on breakfast TV this morning with Australia to compete again in The Americas Cup

The win was in time for breakfast TV. Seven using local WJAR 10 with a somewhat familiar looking logo.
