Southern Cross Austereo (Regional)

I was wondering what time My Generation would be airing on Triple M. You should be able to look this up on their website, but as per usual with the Triple M websites, all the show menus/pages are out of date with missing items, old items that should be removed and inaccurate items…

Couple of random community stations on that list! Are they allowed to carry that sort of programming?

My question is why is it on twice a week in most places (mostly TripleM regional network), says to me, lets make 1 big network, program from one place, but we don’t have the content to broadcast 24/7, so lets repeat things?

Also Bathurst is essentially a 2 horse town, yet both B-Rock & 2BS have My-Gen twice a week (same day), Sunday nights at the exact same time, it’s also on Sunday nights at the same time on 2LT Lithgow an alternate for 2BS listeners.

Comercial radio wonders why people don’t listen (especially regionally). If you don’t want to listen to My-Gen, you don’t have any other options than to turn off.

Metro bean counters & network management just don’t get this.

My Gen has been on multiple times on some stations for quite a while - this is nothing new.

Looking at most of the timeslots it’s on, I very much doubt you’re going to have too many of the same people listening at both those times anyway.

I know for a period of time My Gen was airing on both 3NE and Edge FM Wangaratta, the former on Sunday afternoons and the latter on Sunday nights. May have been the same for 2QN and Edge Deniliquin, but it appears no longer so

I don’t see why not. Community stations often carry content from commercial radio. As long as it’s not breaking any rules with regards to carrying advertising then i can’t think it to be a problem.

As for repeats on multiple stations in a single market… that’s just programming by accountants

Was there 1 winner of the Bon Jovi Nashville across SCA network or one in every market?

Newcastle bought their own tickets for the 3 events, rest are network I think.

According to the terms and conditions, there was/is only one prize available for each of the three events across all stations (including Newcastle).

Newcastle bought their own, they have 3 local winners.

A bit like Digital TV I guess.

More stations now, so more timeslots to fill with programming.

Did Mick Molloy or Merrick or someone ring the other winners, or how were they announced didn’t get to hear?

Called by the networked afternoon announcer.

I only noticed this by accident & it’s likely just an oversight, but it’s also illegal under the broadcasting rules.

2GO & KOFM don’t have any contact us links (with links to make a complaint) on their web sites.

I’m not sure how many other SCA web sites don’t have it, SeaFM Gosford & NXFM (sorry Hit) both have them, but not their TripleM sister stations.

Who was that? All of the stations couldn’t be networking (4TO with Minty, Gold with AV, 2GO with Dani)

No idea, and probably couldn’t care less to be honest.

Not sure how they did it with this competition, but in general, there a 2 main ways stations can do this:

  1. Have the local announcer throw to the network announcer (probability pre-recorded) for the competition segments.

  2. Sometimes they have the local announcer record their voice to edit into the call to the winner- making it sound like the call was made by that announcer.

Listened to Luke Bona from r the first time last night, enjoyed the show very interesting. But before that the regionals still have Talking back the night, what’s the point of it if they have a Talkback program after?
