Songs lost to radio

Great stuff again from 2RE. That could pass for one of my logs…I even played ‘Plush’ by STP to start my last show!

What a great song (this is where I out myself as a lifelong Simply Red fan :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:). IMO this live performance from 2003 is the ultimate version of that song:

Coles Radio (Nova) played a song that I haven’t heard since Bilko’s “All Request Awesome 80s” (that was awhile ago, probably a good 20 years).

The Firm - Startrekkin’ :hear_no_evil:

Primitive love rites - Mondo Rock heard today on RIM FM 100.1

Just an infectious and unforgettable base riff. From 1986. One of the few songs from Australia that even got airplay in Aotearoa. 3ZM even played it once.

Now that’s a top song!!

A song that already belongs to the “Did They Really Just Play That?” Thread as I famously heard it on the Triple M Network during “Nights With Dave Gleeson” on the Classic 9 at 9 segment last year with the theme being songs that have to do with space and stars.

I like it when stations go out of format and air rarities like that.

I don’t listen to any SCA stations these days, they put the s into hit.

Sadly Mondo Rock and Goanna don’t get the air play on the heritage stations like they once did a decade ago.

One song I heard today that I’ve not heard since the 90s was Swamp Thing -The Grind! :astonished:

This song reminds me of working evening shift at work in the mid 90s and listening to The Hot 30 on B105. IT was still a local show back then,

Do you remember the Boogie check?

That was on Stereo 10 in the late 1980s,different time

8:15pm on KIIS 106.5: “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles

This was a personal favourite of mine when it was released in 2008. I remember MIX 106.5 (as it was called then) used to play this frequently, as did 2DAY FM (I remember one of their presenters saying she was “America’s answer to Delta Goodrem”).

The song peaked at number four on the ARIA Singles Chart in the aforementioned year, only outperformed by “Brave” which peaked at number three in 2014.
