SHARK!

Nine and tact have never gone well together.

Perth update:

Why?

It’s WA Day long weekend so generally less people will be watching TV. (Although, the weather bureau is warning a heavy storm will hit the southern half of the state this weekend)

WA will be at least one week (two episodes) behind the rest of Australia.

Have they been getting bad feedback because of the fatal shark attack in Perth a couple of weeks ago?

Mildly amusing review by Blackbox

I cant see the point of Nine not airing Shark! in Perth. Viewers in Perth can watch it on 9now anyway. 9 programming dept did not think of that when they made that decision of not airing it in Perth by the looks of things. Am I right?

Waiting for a countdown timer

You would think Monday would be a good launch day then. The public holiday day is usually higher rating. Even edit the 2 episodes together for Perth.

Why would they set up their show to fail? Did they ask 10 for some advice?

“In one scene, a human-shaped dummy is thrown into a shark enclosure before being violently torn apart by the animals within seconds. The staged sequence depicts the dummy being “fatally” mauled as fake blood spreads through the water during the simulated attack.”

If the show is being pulled due to sensitivity in Perth, why is it still going to air in Queensland where there was a fatal shark attack this week?

Nine can use the geoblocking technology to prevent WA people from watching the show on 9Now.

Given the amount of publicity they gave the show during Origin, it would be a much braver decision to pull it in Queensland.

If they were going to pull in it Qld they might as well pull it nationally.

Perhaps just offended by the number of promos and cross promotion

TVT story now includes a comment from Nine

“Given recent events, we have made the decision to postpone the Perth broadcast premiere of Shark !”

Opening warning on SHARK

The Australian Financial Review published an interview article with Tammy Hembrow on the weekend. The lunchtime interview took place in Sydney before Tammy attended the program launch last week.
