With SCA now back in the TV business, I wonder if Seven News will rebrand all their 6pm bulletins to
“Nightly News > 7 [State]”

The merger would’ve been great if SCA wasn’t such a dud of a company themselves…
Also about time Stokes F-ed off into the sunset. I suppose at least he has the decency to stand down next year, unlike that ‘Aussie’ bloke who lives in Bermuda.

Would they have to divest some of the regional assets with the voice rule? They’d have TV and two Radio stations and in WA would have The West Australian.

I presume you said no to changing the name back, which maybe means 7 Tasmania will get 7news.
I wonder If they will have to sell some assets In regional markets, especially If they own a TV station & 2 radio stations like In many regional markets.
i love how SCA has sold all their regional Seven assets, and are suddenly going to be reunited with them in this merger lol!

You mean bonus local business ad spots will return to TNT Hobart (will the advertising be more affordable again and some local business ads return to said station)? And will the hit and Triple M ads return to Hobart TV again too? If so, this is exciting![1]

What will it mean with our outdated Media Rules? Many has’nt been Touched since 1992?
Southern Cross Network has a nice ring to it - but I would be expecting something simple like 7 Southern Cross and no changes to things like the on air TV channel from 7 or from 7 News. I doubt SCA are interested in changing things like that for 7 even if they do have the controlling shares.
What it will be good for is for advertising across more mediums as the markets diminish and for things like resourcing with newsrooms etc…
