that’s a massive win for Craig McPherson and his department, clearly Seven Brisbane did a lot right this year and not just Comm Games influence (if any).
Max Futcher probably made a difference to Seven News’ ratings in South East Queensland?
Makes you wonder if Seven News Sydney would benefit from “Ushering in” a new lead newsreader. Despite improving ratings for them particularly during the 6.30pm half, Nine News has so far convincingly won all but one ratings week in the Sydney market this year including that extraordinary success during the Commonwealth Games.
Interesting tweet
Guaranteed that Nine will put a spin on it somehow to promote them being #1

With Seven News now No. 1 in Brisbane, regional Queensland and Queensland overall… Are Nine winning the market (Brisbane), either main channel or overall?
Maybe Nine could start claiming that.
Though Seven would probably counter-promote adding regional with something like “Queensland’s No. 1”
Previously Seven haven’t claimed any ratings wins based on weeks won; that has always been a Nine thing; so it’s interesting that Seven Brisbane’s News Director has post the above tweet.

Week 41 in 2017:
Daylight saving has very obvious impact on news ratings.
Although despite the start of DST it’s rather concerning how viewership dropped in Sydney when the news services had the ideal ingredients for a viewership increase: 2nd week of the NSW school holidays, wet weather and a fairly big local story in the Opera House Everest saga.
In a positive direction for Brisbane though, up across the board and Seven News Brisbane winning yet again.
Are you able to tell us how Rod and Kay rate on weekends up there, I thought it was even bigger?
You mean Kay only right?
Rod rates very poorly as it is just Kay on the weekends Rod presents the Gold Coast edition. Seven has always done better on weekends even when Nine was winning Mon-Fri.
YTD Sat-Sun is
Seven 198,000
Nine 162,000
Quick table

Week 42 in 2017:
“Australia’s Royal Network” saw Sydney News numbers drop by 18,000 from last week; especially poor compared to the same week last year. The Royal Tour didn’t seem to have much effect on the other 6pm bulletins with week-on-week variations fairly small.
