Just saw that. So Liz Hayes is permanent? She was seated in the centre of the end shot.

Bigger name than most of the team?

Well, it would seem so if you are putting her front and centre.

Three ex-60 reporters in that line up of five. And then two of their best foreign correspondents in recent memory.

On paper, it should be a very good product.

Just need 7 to give it a proper go now.

She is clearly there. No “if”.

I would have expected more of an announcement if it was the case though. There is weight behind her name and now being associated with the show.

Considering the announcement for Rhani Sadler last week… you would have thought you’d get a bit more of an announcement.

She has gone from one story last year, to front and centre this year.

The Australian is saying that Liz is still freelancing,

Very strategic to have Liz front and centre if that’s the case. I guess it is not like 60 could use her for a few stories given the disagreement. So Spotlight is comfortable promoting her even though she isn’t signed with them.

That was more to do with not finishing at the end of the financial year, not when it came back this year.

Spotlight is budgeted for a financial year, not a calendar year.

What disagreement?

Her relationship with the EP was reportedly unworkable. Liz apparently thought the content of the show had become too light.

Also the fact that 9 didnt want to pay her $800k a year + expenses including her business class flights. They now only need to do that for Tara.

Well maybe Bartlett should’ve kept his agenda aside and shut up his traps about renewables being ‘rubbish’.
