It should be noted that those updates are recorded on green screen in the second studio (usually).
Yes, but the same shot is easy to recreate on air.
Just noting that Rosanna Natoli (backup Weather and Updates presenter) has now been officially declared the new mayor of the Sunshine Coast, following recent Local Government elections.

I’m guessing she won’t be presenting on Seven anymore, at least while she is Mayor.
Well given nowhere in Perth cared about that for Basil Zempilas, I wouldn’t think it would necessarily need to matter - especially if those are updates not aired in the Sunshine Coast market.
Rosanna will be resigning from her jobs as current 7News Queensland Update presenter (and backup Weather presenter) and University lecturer at UniSC (Sippy Downs Campus) in due course.
Rosanna Natoli has won the race to lead one of Queensland's largest councils, and will serve alongside her husband Joe Natoli who has been re-elected as a councillor.
So, this is farewell. I’ve cleaned out my desk and said goodbye to my 7NEWS family. I’ve worked here for 29 years and I can’t quite believe that I’m closing this chapter. (What’s ahead is exciting,...
I had never really taken much notice of the desk behind the desk; until the photo above
Love the bit of safety flooring over near the sports presenter too lol
I think it was used to hide the projector used for the backdrop until around 2018/19 when they switched to a screen. Video below should start when the camera enters the studio.
check out Rob Brough’s shirt!
it’s a white shirt… ?
It’s untucked … and looks like it came out of a shirt box complete with the fold lines…
It’s untucked
yeah, it is.
Yes, it is.
Bulletins appeared to be back tonight
Makes you wonder if they are no longer carrying spares onsite at Maroochydore?? It could also have been a DVN issue to NPC Media in Sydney.
Faults that have kept stations off air have been rare in recent years.

Given they are now in HD (AFAIK), I think they would be able to get spares if needed (although not quickly if it’s a last minute thing).

Lack of spares and technical staff have become more of an issue at TV and radio in recent years - TV studios once held spare boards for things like vision mixers and character generators but cost of doing that now would be prohibitive.
One old place I saw had an 8X1 switcher and a downstream keyer as an emergency backup so they could get a simplified bulletin to air. Not that simple now.
Some personal news. I’m signing off with 7News Mackay for the last time tonight. It’s been an amazing two years… onto the next chapter. pic.twitter.com/G2J5TebhJ3
