Funnily enough, why doesnât Lismore/Northern Rivers receive the Coast bulletin on Channel 7? Youâd think that with a lot of stories focusing on places like Ballina theyâd broadcast that bulletin into the Northern Rivers and take on the juggernaut i.e NBN News. Nope, itâs just 7NEWS Sydney. Also with the Border bulletin servicing Albury-Wodonga and North East VIC (Wangaratta is one of those suburbs) youâd think Shepparton would also get this bulletin. Nope, just the same 7NEWS Melbourne like the rest of Regional VIC. And on 7HD Albury, Iâve seen a couple of Shepparton ads on there. Just as Iâve seen some Albury ads on 7HD Shepparton. Interesting.
To further add to the insult, Channel 7 in Shepparton has no local news whatsoever, the only thing local about the Seven Network in Shepparton is the advertising, thatâs it. The weather is statewide, and the news updates during the evening are the national ones derived from the Regional NSW 6:30 National bulletin presented by Daniel Gibson, the bulletin of which is seen in all listed Regional NSW markets excluding Albury-Wodonga/Wangaratta which gets a trimmed-down 7NEWS Melbourne at 6:30pm instead.
When did Lismore / Northern Rivers stop receiving a local bulletin on Seven? First Iâve seen this mentioned. Youâre not posting incorrect information as fact I hope?
I totally thought Lismore just got Sydney news given the Gold Coast NEN already does. Whoops, just only double checked the guides now because you guys brough that up lol. I thought all this time the Northern Rivers never got the Coast bulletin. My apologies, my bad I guess. [1]

More of them. These are the statewide ones as seen in the 5 Regional NSW markets with a local news bulletin. The 90 second version also features some presenters from 7NEWS Sydney (e.g: Michael Usher).
Iâve noticed that the ex-Prime stations are currently using a slightly altered version (no drums at the start) of the music bed for presenter-less weather updates. Iâve seen them air during Sunrise within the past few months, but they only just started using a âWeatherâ title card a few days ago.
I am still surprised that Prime/7 did not beam the Albury/Border bulletin into Shepparton when SCA had the 9 affiliation and its 9News Border North East a few years ago! A lost opportunity. But 7News regardless of local (Border) or a full Melbourne bulletin with Peter Mitchell would have been #1 in the RegionalTAM ratings anyway.

Due to some intense Newcastle tropo, you only get to see half of the changes on this end slide for the 7-day outlook. Will wait for a better day when thereâs no intrusive Newcastle tropo around so I can bring up the same outlook slide without pixelation.
