Anyone else notice that Sam is completely taking over from Max?

Happened on Monday and again tonight. Just seems like she’s reading much more than he is. Doesn’t feel even at all.

In this day and age, you would think we’d see more of this.
To read 4pm and 6pm should be fairly standard practice for news presenters.

I think it’s because they want 6pm to be seen as “main/ premium” and that’s why we mostly only see them do the 6pm news.

I don’t think we will ever see Peter Overton or Mark Ferguson do 4pm.

Perhaps not, but the next generation of anchors should/could do both easily. Happens in the US all the time.

It’s no longer referred to ‘at noon’. Not mentioned in the opener either.

I looked at the replay on 7plus and sure enough, the VO still said: “This is Seven’s National News at Noon.”

I would prefer if it said: “This is Seven National News.”

A much better opening rather than coming in from the left and seeing all that empty space.

That’s before the headlines. They still do that other angle. But I agree that the head-on shot looks much better.
