Casey Trealor is presenting the local 5pm news in Adelaide
I still can’t work out how Adelaide, who’s only 30 minutes behind NSW gets local daytime bulletins but QLD, who’s an hour behind gets delayed news.
Makes no sense at all.
Tyra Stowers is presenting the Melbourne weather in the studio for a last day!
What does that mean?
No, Tyra is presenting weather live from the Crown Court pop-up pickleball set up at the Atrium at Crown Casino.
See screencap on the right in the above post.
Edit: Tyra has a live chat and plays a pickleball game with Wim Fissette, Iga Swiatek’s coach.
That was awesome! The AI song sounded great, one of its better use cases for celebrations like this.
Also how nostalgic seeing a Australian Media watermark on a new video (in high res) immediately reminded me of signing up here when I was 12 lol.
They have absolutely earned their legendary status by this point.
For little awhile it seemed like maybe they were just sitting in the studio counting up the hours reading bulletins, but over the last decade they’ve defintiely had Rick and Sue out in the field more like they did in the 80s and 90s for major events.
They are perhaps the strongest element of credibility 7News has, surviving all of the various controversies surrounding the brand over time. The duo are a genuine class act, similar to Ann Sanders in maintaining a public profile without too much tabloid drama overall.
the 5pm bulletin is so silly on a weekend.
Especially when the nightly news is only half an hour away once the 5:00pm news has finished.
It should be remembered Seven launched their bulletin to counter Nine’s bulletin, which they launched in January 2011 in response to Channel Ten abandoning its national weekend 5:00pm bulletin when they reinstated the local weekend bulletins. However, backlash saw Ten reinstate the former bulletin which has remained since.
Monday January 13
Hugh Whitfield is presenting the morning news
Who’s the lady?
Michelle Rattray
I’ve been in Brisbane over a year now and have never seen her before.
I believe she was a Gold Coast reporter. Michelle wasn’t given a voice over for the opener or on screen caption.
Oh, makes sense. Thanks.
On another note, we haven’t seen Katrina Blowers all summer. Usually she fills in on 6pm during the week.
