17 laps to go at 5.58pm AEDT with another safety car.
My projection is that the race will finish at 6.20pm then the news will start in Sydney and Melbourne.

They predict a 6:41-6:50 finish. Great for ratings, not good for the Voice.
Looks like Adelaide might be delayed as well
Not so sure it’ll be “great” for all of Seven’s ratings tonight.
I’m sure Nine News will still see a big bump in Sydney and Melbourne at 6pm for regular news viewers / those not interested in the Bathurst 1000.
And what effects will it have for Seven News, Voice and Spotlight.
It’ll be interesting to see the effect, if any, on other shows like Block and Amazing Race. Historically, rival early evening programs have been significantly affected and down due to the Bathurst competition, though that hasn’t been as pronounced since the end of the Holden v Ford era.
Yes, SA was listed in the banner posted by Telecom above.
6:42pm AEDT finish in the Bathurst 1000; what a race and it’s gonna be good for ratings in the 6pm hour.
News started in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide at 6.43pm AEDT.
Now, we wait to see how long the news is and how they make up the schedule timing for the rest of the night.
7:30 I’m betting
I’m surprised they don’t now list Tasmania on delay.
Maybe whoever controls the graphics hasn’t been told they now own SC?
News going past 7.
Maybe because it’s “Nightly News Seven Tasmania” and not “Seven News” (if that’s still the case).
It’s been Seven News since last week.
Seven News in Sydney and Melbourne commenced with local stories, then Gaza then a report from Matt Carmichael with an eyewitness accounts from Bathurst including the end of the race. There was also an early cross to weather. Sydney is promising The Bright Side later so looking like a full bulletin and sport live from Bathurst. Adelaide opened with a car crash story!
NSW, VIC and SA all in or heading to sport now.
Melb sport started at 7:29. So I would assume 7:40pm finish. So it will be a normal bulletin
Always classy in Adelaide
Mark and Ange also acknowledged the departure of Matt Carmichael following his report from Bathurst.
NSW take the pre-weather break at 7:38. Bright Side to follow that, so 7:50 or abouts out time.
Into weather 7:42.
