Tonight in Brisbane, we briefly saw what looked like the Gold Coast presenters moving off set after their bulletin ended, before the 6pm Brisbane bulletin started.
Probably for when there’s no weather presenter and the newsreader reads the weather.
Seven News Brisbane opener tonight showed images from the Gold Coast set and had the wrong graphic “Mask Mandate” while the voice over described wild weather. Subsequently the voice over didn’t match the images on screen.
Looks like Seven News Queensland is thinking “if you can’t beat them, join them” (re: Nine Queensland’s sensationalist approach)…
Clearly 9 Brisbane is having success in the ratings, goodness only knows how.
The sensationalism technique worked for QTQ. BTQ won’t copy that one good to be No. 1.
Seven Gold Coast News will continue during the Commonwealth Games though there will be an adjustment to the Gold Coast Schedule with a 30 Minute version of The Chase being shown from 5pm due to Commonwealth Games highlights. The Chase episode will be different to the rest of the network according to the episode numbers.
03:00 PM Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games - Highlights
05:00 PM The Chase Australia
05:30 PM Seven News Gold Coast
Not sure if other states do this, but Perth uses ‘Afternoons’ during the opener of their afternoon bulletin
But ‘First at 4’ going to breaks.
Nice Barilaro exclusive on Seven News Sydney tonight. Quite a contrast to how Nine covered the story painting him as a hard done by victim and ignoring the extent of the assault on the cameraman.
Good job by 7 but unsure how the story on 9 was at all sympathetic to the ex-politician? He seemed to cop a fair whack. They were limited to a three second social media video so used his radio interview more than the scuffle what 7 had multi cameras at.
Not for a while - Queensland used to have than but First at 4 has been replaced. Now when going to a break it’s a promo for the 6pm news.
Katie Brown presenting sport on today’s Morning News.
Is 7News in Brisbane still simulcast on 96.5fm?
No. Not for over a year.
