If Seven mentioned the actual suburb the studios are in (if in the CBD, name the street) versus the city name it would help it feel less stale and more local. Adelaide for example:
Live from our Hindmarsh studios, this is Seven News Adelaide, with [presenter].
Or for a more RQLD style, using Brisbane as an example:
Live across Brisbane and South East QLD, this is Seven News, with [presenter].
Saying "our [insert capital city] studios makes it a bit stale, like the Nine News Canberra bulletins crossing live to a reporter “in Canberra” instead of “in [suburb]”.

Ah, but that takes the authority that 7 want to imbue with their news. Because it’s not just their “Hindmarsh studios,” no, it’s their “Adelaide headquarters.” Why else would there be an orchestra marching the viewer along to the news?
What is this? A set for giants?
The presenter looks like a child - perspective is important!

For RQLD, the current opening VO is fine. This would make local viewers feel that their news is all-local, though studio presentation comes from the Sunshine Coast.
Seven News staked out the electoral office of Emma Husar and their big scoop was showing a staffer picking up dog’s poo.
Tonight they bagged Aldi…
even Sky News has a far better set.
No, the rock hammer used in the escape attempt was baked into the bread, but it all went a-rye when it was discovered. The guards couldn’t stop loafing about it, cause now it’s the yeast these prisoners have to worry about…
